There is one firearm listed on Trading post I am kinda interested to send offers, but I am going to wait out until there is less than a day delay on a 4473.

I kinda think I'd rather live in a world where you didn't do a BGC but had a 3 day waiting period than a world where you had "instant" BGCs and no waiting period (I mean other than returning to how America was designed with neither).

I like it just the way it is. Even though background checks don't prevent many evil doers from doing evil, the failure of the government to fully prosecute those who apply and are rejected for just cause exposes the hypocrisy of the BGC system and it's proponents.

Thanks for the field report, Doc. I'm glad to hear that inventory levels are still good. The shops looked depressing during the last panic, and it seemed to take only a few days to empty the display cases.

Btw. I remember when 4473 was yellow 25+back.
There was question section that if they commit a felony within 10 years or 15 years etc. Violent crime etc.

If I remember correct, even felon without any sort of crime for 10/15 years can pass background back then?
    Anyone remember?

Yeah, but no attention is ever drawn to the statistics that show that having the BGC systems aren't worth the expense poured into them. The conviction rate is barely better than the odds of winning the Lotto.
It's primarily a tax on firearm ownership, IMO.

Anyone ever have a BCG exceed the three days AND have a gun store let the weapon out the door?

I remember 11+ day wait times around 2012, and I never saw that. Ever. Granted, the store wouldn't have criminal liability, but they aren't immune from civil. The 3 day "opt-out" is lip-service, something to overcome constitutional arguments without actually being implemented.

No, a felony disqualified even on the previous version of the form.

When I left Iron Horse on Thursday at 5 pm, there were 9,300 people currently waiting in CBI. Wait times were estimated at 18+ hours. My best guess would be 2 - 3 days.
