Well today made it a week since I filled it out and still no word!!!! What the hell????? I did one on the 14th, was good to go on the 16th. I know CBI doesn't count the weekends but still. The shop isn't much help, nor is it the shop's issue-it lays at the feet of the state. Supposedly CBI background check people are working at home-sure as hell hope they have secure servers!!-I know people in other parts of the state that filled theirs out at the same time or even a day after me that have cleared. Trust me, I know I'll clear. Was told by the shop the clearances are being in done "in batches" and that some are going faster than others.
I double checked as I wanted to make sure I didn't screw up filling out the form, don't know if anyone at the shop might have done something or not (I doubt it but anything is possible with how busy they were).
I don't know and really don't care, it's just frustrating as hell. This is on an out of state transfer that showed up last week. The last time I looked at CBI's website they stated a 227% increase in checks compared to the same time frame last year.

Ok, lots of panic buyers, my purchase was made on the 15th so bad on me for finding the gun I wanted with the "panic" mode many noobs are in. If I don't get the call tomorrow (Saturday) to pick it up I'm screwed until the following Saturday April 4, can't get to the shop next week at all. What happened to the ffl being able to release the firearm after 3 days? Or is that an urban myth or is this weird situation we're in an exception?

I feel your pain Doc, as you and I are basically in the exact same boat as I purchased an out of state custom rifle and it arrived last Sat. and I filled out the paper work at that time and still no word. Sucks for sure. Our insta-check system sucks in times like these.
Laws aren't "preventable" measures. IOW, more gun laws won't stop mass shootings.
