Rest assured you will be assessed all of the late fee penalties for not renewing your tags on time even though they are closed and can't process renewals. That's just how the Government works.

Looks like I’ll complete the registration next week, the clerk is going to confirm I can pay over the phone.

I'm going to see if I can get my plates online. That's a good idea. This is a new to me vehicle.

Easey Peasey...UNLESS you need an Emissions Test, which are not available at this time.

I sure hope they can do this remote or waive that extra charge.

Paying the state $130/mo ownership tax on top of the "registration fees" to drive a vehicle less than 5K a year, most of which is NOT on Colorado roads, is literally highway robbery. Insane.
Do you know if vehicles previously registered would be considered first time? I still have both vehicles plates from before (DV and regular).

If you registered them in another state then would be considered new CO registration.

I used the Kiosk at King Soopers. I did not need to have emissions.

There ya go, mine is also a new bike purchase not a renewal. No idea about the renewal process, don't have to think about that until Sept. on my truck LOL!

I filled out the registration extension form online since I need emissions test to renew. Guess we'll see where that goes. All that form says when you submit is "Your response has been received. The DMV will follow up via email once your submission has been reviewed."

I find it hilarious/perturbing that they say they can't waive emissions. Why the hell not??? (Rhetorically speaking . . . I'm sure that "but muh environmental concerns" are immune from this once-in-a-lifetime-pandemic event where the govt can unilaterally close businesses and force citizens to stay home but they can't say "don't worry about an emissions test for the next couple months and just send in your renewal."
