I am not an LEO but have Axom/Taser knowledge. I actually knew about this company right when they developed M18/26 from being working in a financial company.

The taser has about 1ft spread at approximately 7ft distance. On some areas of body, 1ft prong spread is not as effective. Best distance seems to be at around 10-14ft static target.
Back works better, because there are many muscles on the back, and target is larger than front (need to watch for an eye, and face etc). Taser products are great, because it has just the near ideal voltage, and perfect pulse rate for Neuro-Muscular Incapacitation (NMI).

Personally, I would not deploy taser when someone is running, especially when turning left and right on tight corner. I would also avoid areas like stairs, tight concrete walls, or anywhere where subject can just hit their head and break their neck.
When contacted properly, it DID NOT make those TICK TICK TICK TICK sounds like youtube video did. It was silent, and subject hit the ground like a sack of potato (dead weight) without any sound.

I don't have a lot of experience using tasers. I see lots of failures, though. That's why, ideally, you'll have another officer standing by with lethal backup. Of course, "ideally" rarely happens in the real world.

I can tell you all means of self defense or tools used to incapacitate a suspect can fail depending on a variety of factors. With tasers, especially in certain climates/locations, clothing can be a big problem. I used OC a lot. It usually worked great and almost immediately. Occasionally, though, you'd get someone that wasn't affected by it at all. It was normally so effective I'd just assume the suspect would immediately be incapacitated. It would always catch me off guard for a second or two when I'd spray someone and they wouldn't react.

I've also had impact weapons (baton) fail, even with repeated strikes. Depending on the level of intoxication by whatever substance some guys just don't feel pain, even with broken bones.

And we've all seen videos of shooting failures. Even when hit, some suspects are still able to function long enough to be a real problem. The best example of that I can think of would be the FBI's infamous "Miami shootout".

The entire Rochester Police command, including the chief just resigned.

Better get those social workers to quell the riots tonight.

The TICK TICK TICK sound means one or both of the Taser probes are not embedded in the body (probably stopped by some clothing) and the electricity is arcing to the body. This is not as effective compared to when both probes are embedded in the body.

Yup thanks to rapid arc technology.

Maybe taser should name their next model off of physicist who did electromagnetism just like EV vehicle companies.

it's Day 100 in Portland. Just over 3 months of this shit. Did anyone really believe, this was about social justice and or systemic racism?

IMO their goal is nothing but anarchy . Turning on those who support them,. eating their own as they march in to darkness.

Then again, the mayor got what he deserved.

"Officers observed someone throw burning material through a broken window into a ground-level business in a large, occupied apartment building," Portland Police said in a statement. "Out of concern that the fire could spread, causing an extreme life safety concern, the incident was declared a riot."

Do you think that jackass of a mayor decided to move out for the sake of the other residents? He's proved that he's a slow learner. I bet the other residents demanded he get out.

He still hasn't changed his stance and the mess he's allowed to fester is Trump's fault.
