I thought the past four years of outright lies about what Trump did or said were crazy but the mass media and corporate statements about the Georgia voting law are unbelievable (literally). Amazon is demanding IDs for workers to vote on unionization. Coke required IDs to participate in last year's shareholder meeting. CBS, ABC, and CNN "fact checks" are flat out misrepresentations at best.

Oh, I know. I've sat in triple digit Texas heat and humidity for hours on end hunting hogs. But guess what...I bring water.

But let's be honest, how long are those lines in GA in the blistering summer heat and humidity for the primaries? I went ahead and looked it up. The 2020 primary was the largest turnout on record in GA and that was half the amount of people that voted in the general election. Roughly 2.3M vs 5M.

You know the summer heat/water BS is an exaggeration and made-up problem.

I wish we could have a non political watch group who could assess media bias, and x number of violations resulted in loss of protection under the 1st Amendment, but we all know that would quickly be subverted, politicized, and misused...

Who watches the watchers? Who determines a watch group is "non political"? I have several acquaintances who continue to maintain NPR is straight down-the-middle news. Absolutely untrue. This whole idea of basing 1st amendment protections based on claims of "disinformation" is a terrible idea from the start. It is so easy to weaponize that, as we see today.

Media can lie all it wants, people need to take responsibility for themselves. Read between the lines. Don't patronize the sources that have gone way beyond bias into the realm of attempting thought control.

America's system depends on voters taking the time and effort to learn and think for themselves. Statism depends on people letting institutions do their thinking for them.

This is the problem statement for sure, I'm not sure many here patronize the sources that are out of control - it's not the folks on a forum like this that need to wake up - it's the "woke" who need to wake up.
