Bailey...why would any gun store jump through hoops like that during AWB for $3 markup of a magazine?

I mean even at minimum wage, a fully burdened employ will cost the around $25/hr. If they spend 7 minutes dealing with it, that $3 markup is $zero.

If I was a gun store, I wouldn't carry any inventory hoping an LEO comes in and buys it unless I was selling mostly to LE. Carrying inventory that doesn't move is bad.

At my store, with my wholesalers, I didn't carry inventory. I ordered restricted items as needed.

What we were paid, versus what some of use spent on used / trade in, or new (at cost +10, or s&h) if that. Put me where it cost X $$ per week to walk through the door. But i did it for the opportunity to buy at dealer pricing, among other things. I already had a FT job, the gun store[s] pt gigs, fed my habit

If so, it'll be reliable, but will need aftermarket sights, the grip angle will suck, and aftermarket triggers will be released to fix trigger issues, real or imagined... Oh, and it'll require new mags. lol!! Love my Glocks, they're way late to the ... But hey, they have a .22lr pistol!
You forgot you have to pull the trigger to disassemble it and it will have an unsupported chamber.

Even that, why even bothering to order? It seems like the effort is a money losing proposition for the massive margins on magazines.

    Maybe I am missing something.

Of course I always love when employees say "look at me, I spent three hours screwing around on the internet and saved $17 on the item".

Then I calculate how much money they spent saving that $17....

I have heard it rumored that gun store employees spend more in the shop than they make....

Well, the customer always has the option of spending his/her money elsewhere, even if it's just a few dollars. And adding an item to an order was as simple as a phone call or two or a few clicks of a mouse and faxing their letter over. It also builds goodwill with the customer. The $50 they spend this time might lead to them spending $500 next time. And they tell their friends "Oh I got this at Joe Blow's gun shop. He hooked me up right away." Maybe the friend will come in. Not to mention, the more you spend with a particular distributor and your rep at that distributor, the more likely he/she will call you when allocated or other hard to get items show up in their allocation. It's a numbers game...

What are the chances? Real or elaborate hoax? I'm just interested because, you know, no one has EVER claimed Glock is coming out with a carbine. EVER. Seriously. No one has ever heard this before.

Whee. Big deal. Beretta released their Cx4 Storm a long dang time ago. Nice lightweight accurate carbine with full magazine compatibility with the 92fs family -- and apparently prohibited in Canada since May 1, 2020.
