This one facet I haven't been able to figure out.

I would say it’s a diversion from all the other crap going on.

Every story that ever bubbles up, there's 50 similar stories that did not make national news, and there are 5,000 people that ask "why was that one special". There's another 500 people that call it a conspiracy.

It's like a guy that got pulled over for speeding asking "Why aren't you pulling over the 500 cars that passed us going just as fast as me?" Well bud, cause there's only one cop here, and he decided to pull you over. There's only room in the media for a handful of stories, and they usually rapidly regurgitate new stories brought by someone else, because it's easy.

Why is this in the news and "x" missing person isn't? Simply because it is.

Put another way too, if every missing person made national news, you'd never watch national news, ever, and nobody else would either. It would be an exhausting, full time job that you aren't paid for to watch even a fraction of the stories, and there wouldn't be a single person that you could discuss any individual story with, because they would all get lost in the noise. People want AN interesting story, they don't want ALL OF THEM.

Ummmm, the murder part? With the suspected killer on the loose and on the run?

This is close to something I point out to my anti-gun associates. We don't hear of every vehicle death even in a place as close as Denver, but if there's more than one person shot anywhere in the country, you'll hear about it.

...and on its anniversary, and if they find some local connection and if someone, somewhere makes a comment about it and, and, and...

YOU are the first responder. Police, fire and medical are SECOND responders.

Do milk cartons still put "have you seen me?" for missing person?

I buy generic and store brand , and they don't put those on.

Maybe Duane can go look for Jimmy Hoffa when he's done with this case.

Serious question.... if any of us here found him somewhere on a trail, would you drop him, drag him off the trail and cover him with brush...then go home and make a sandwich and put on your favorite show?

    I would.

    1. If he is in US and still alive, he is getting help from someone/somewhere.
    2. He might be out of country. Country with no Extradition nor needing visa.
    3. He dead...

I probably wouldn't even notice that he is the guy people are looking for. He looks like so many other irrelevant people I don't know or care about.
