Illinois man charged after shooting himself during dream about burglary

While in a stupor from the nighttime terror, Dicara "retrieved his .357 Magnum Revolver and shot at who he believed was the intruder."

"When he fired, he shot himself and apparently woke up from the dream," the sheriff's office said.

Dicara was charged with possessing a firearm with a revoked Firearm Owners Identification card, which is required in Illinois, as well as reckless discharge of a firearm, the sheriff's office said.

That's a new one. At least it wasn't another "cleaning my gun" accident.
This is a weird one for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if, assuming the story is accurate, there was an insomnia drug involved.

The $150,000 bond seems high based on the bonds I've been seeing for violent offenders recently, but that's a topic for another thread. I do wonder why the FOID was revoked though...
