I once went to Amici's when I was in high school and hated it.

We eat at Pho 88 (108th and Federal) pretty regularly. I grew up eating at Gordo's. That is the place at 44th and Wads that someone mentioned knowing the owners of the bar. Gordo's is new to the bar and I thought they were moving back to their old location, but I'm not sure now.

In the springs I like 3 margauritas carne asada steak. The rest of their stuff I don't know about. For BBQ I love Bird Dog. Breakfast food I like Sheldon's luncheonette. For expensive steak I like The Famous. And for something different we ate at Texas de Brazil in Denver Sunday. The place was awesome. People keep coming around with skewers of meat and don't stop until you tell them to. And they had a great salad bar.

Is there more than one location? I know of one in the strip mall @ Powers and Stetson Hills - close to my house.

?? What is this "salad bar" thing you refer to? Is it made of meat?!

robsterclaw reminded me that we like to go to Columbine Steakhouse on about 1st and Federal. Best priced steaks I've ever eaten.

Every weekend, without fail, my girl and I hit Hacienda Colorado - their barbacoa burrito is fantastic. At least once a month we go to some place we have never been before, we've done it for years and been able to experience a number of places in town.

    My second favorite topic, food.

1st, to tell if a mexican restaurant is good look at the menu and if the sopapillas are on the desert menu, run! typical crap food.

next, for those of you who live in the springs/fountain/security try Vi's. They not only have the best New Mexican food in town but the best burgers in town that will leave you saying "why did i get fries with my cow of a burger" They were voted best red chili in the springs a few years ago. They may be worth the trip from denver.

I like Rudy's too if I don't have to wait in line for a hour, which is never.

Big second to Western Omelet for hangover curing, burning going in and out, awesome breakfasts.

When it comes to Mexican food, we like Salsa Brava in the Springs. When we go back to Alamosa, the town where I went to college with a large Hispanic population, then we go to Calvillo's- amazing, authentic, the real deal. Tasty!

Bird Dog BBQ is good too.

There is another one at the Shops at Briargate just a few down from the Apple store.
