OR, since I am sticking with the original tower and dont care if the handgurads move a slight amount maybe I will get a rifle length 2 piece set for cheap and a barrel nut and cut a slot for the tower?

If you go with a standard 2 piece drop in set you are going to have an issue-there is nothing to support the front of the handguards. You need the front handguard ring and it is held in place by the FSB.
Why not get a free float rifle length and bob the FSB, then run a rail height front BUIS? You will reap the benefit of a longer sight radius as well.
Milling a slot in a free float wont work either as the majority have to be threaded onto the barrel nut.
The DD piece is the way to go.....it just hurts the wallet once.

I wouldn't wish UTG on anyone with a weapon they want to have to depend on. It's AirSoft greade crap... you will get what you pay for!

+10 on what this nutty guy said! Every UTG rail or forend I have installed on either an AR or AK needed at least some file work if not a mill to get acceptable fit up. I am unsure what alloy they are, probably recycled Coors cans and are very soft. I saw one that the owner tried an ARMS mount on and it deformed the rail so much that it was unusable.

    Pure unadulterated CRAP!

Probably broke the ARMS mount at the same time

Crap in Crap out.. I can understand being price sensitive, but this is one of those things were another $50 is the difference between unadulterated CRAP and functional and reliable.
