Plum Crazy Lowers

No it hasn't. I've tested 5 of them and it happened twice. The first time I figured it wasn't lined up correctly but it happened again today with one I know was lined up right. Like I said, it's not a big deal. I would want metal pins anyway. As small as they are, they won't add any weight.

Yeah I will probably be upgrading to metal pins anyway.

I now have 2 rifles with PCL lowers and no problems so far. I did change the pins. I really dig the trigger.

I just bought one of these in early December and had the same problem with two different uppers. Emailed Plum Crazy with cc to dealer I bought it from. Plum Crazy promptly emailed back with a referal to a link on their web site that addressed this very problem, and the dealer called me on the phone the same day. Great service from both! Anyway, just turned out they recommended a good "whack" on the upper to get it to go in and that worked out fine. Pardon me if I am reluctent to force two precision items together that at first don't seem to want to fit together. I suggested they bevel the top edges of the protusions in the lower where the uppers locking lug inserts and maybe they wouldn't get any more questions about this. Have not fired it yet but have heard almost universal positive things from those that have.

I went shooting and this thing exploded on me. I will post pictures later. The lower broke into two pieces while I was shooting it. I thought the receiver exploded, but it was the lower. I had heard about this once before and I didn't believe it due to the amount of damage. I've probably shot _______ rounds over 35 years and never had anything close to this happening. The way they build their buffer tube, theres a thin sleeve inside and the buffer got caught on it and it ripped off the back of the gun, All I can say is this is a very unsafe product other than using it for a dedicated .22.

I checked the buffer tubes on both my PCs and they're smooth inside, nothing to catch. The one that has been fired had some rub marks where the spring contacted the inside of the tube, so I greased the spring up.

I wonder if you're referencing the one failure I saw on Arfcom. The guy's gas key impacted the front of the receiver extension (you could see an impact) and after enough times the receiver extension split at the seam. Plum Crazy replaced it even though it was the upper's fault.

Not saying your upper did this, but thats the only failure I've heard of like this.

This was caused by the buffer binding up and having no place to go. It just ripped 2" of the lower off. Pictures in the morning.
