The wind and cold was pretty brutal in Jan-- but we've shot in colder weather there (though not both I don't think). Crazy wind = almost all steel match.

The Feb match is coming up a week from today. I'd like to get "Stage Bosses" who have some great stage ideas and can direct our plentiful helpers to get them done. I bring a screw gun and an extra battery, and I show up a little before 8 to set up the range closed signs. We'll shoot on bay 1 (25 yards, approx 7y wide), bay 3 (50x50), bay 4 ("shotgun" berm, 100x40), and the 200m range. FYI, we plan to shoot on the 200m on even numbered months and the 100y on the odd months. If you can hit a 6x6 steel plate at 200m from offhand, you should do fine.

If you're new to 3-Gun and action shooting sports, see if you can get a USPSA-style safety briefing from one of your buddies. I always give a safety and new shooter briefing at the shooters' meeting, but if you get it before you'll have an easier learning curve. If you've shot USPSA or IDPA, you should be GTG for procedure and safety.

Any other questions, email me, call me, or post a question here and give me a pointer so I don't miss it.

I'm in. My wife gave me no grief and even thought I should get there early to help set-up. I think she is having an affair, that was too easy.

Dont forget to check the CMG Google groups messages before you head to the range.

I am guessing Zak will post something here if there is a weather cancel, but somethings things slip through the cracks.

    No news is good news.

I doubt Zak will cancel. Last month at Raton it never got above 25F, was windy, and snowed on and off and we all were happy (including Zak). Email him if you are concerned.

I have to work tomorrow so will not make it. :-(

For some reason I never get reply-notification emails from CO-AR15.com. I get them properly from every other forum. That makes it very hard for me to keep up with threads here.

    Anyway:

    The match is still on.

If I have to cancel a match, I try to do it by mid-day on Friday latest, and the method of notification is the CMG email list. I also post match announcements/reminders and results to that list- so if you're not on it, get on it. If there's a doubt you can always text, call, or email me directly.

    thanks

What fun! I got off or I-25 at 14 and it was pure ice and 10 feet of visibilty in fog. I actually pulled over to check to see if it had been canceled and decided to press on. 100 yards down the road, dry pavement and no fog- weird.

Had a great time even if my times/scores don't show it. Amazing how the plan goes to hell when the buzzer goes off and I start to smell powder.

Great bunch of people at the match. The more 3-gunners I meet, the more impressed I am with how helpful everyone is. Great low-stress way to shoot. Great Chili!

Wife was taking a nap on the couch when I got home.... hmm.

    Less toys, more practice.

I have not had that much fun at a 3-gun match in a long time. Great people. Great chili. Fun stages.

Thanks for putting it on Zak.

I've been out of 3 gunning for, gulp, 7 yrs. That match showed that there is some good talent around these parts. Heck, I've been to state matches that weren't as good as this match. Good job Zak and crew.

    I learned quite a bit....

1)Bring my hicap gun for the pistol portion.
2)Dont bring my 10" pump for the shotgun portion.
    3) Hoser is a better shot than he looks.
    4)Docmedic isn't SA Friday.
5)These guys dont care about the finish on their rifles. Concrete blocks?!?!
    6) 3 gun's more fun than nude volleyball.
    7)I'll be back.

Thanks for the chili comments. Ill bring spoons if I do it again.
