Have to be careful, I did a super cheap one that was barely above the minimum requirements. Sheriffs department told me it didn't count so I had to re-take it. The website I went to was out of business the next week, and I went to Colorado Weapons Training.

$100 at Prairie Arms. Not the cheapest, but one of the shortest at only 2 hours.

Some counties (e.g. Douglas County) do not accept online training, and for good reason.

Why is everyone hating on cheap training when we all wanted to bill not requiring anything

Dude your spelling sucks. (or your droid sucks more than an Iphone at spell check)

Quit being cheap, you fight how you train. I understand you dont want to spend a bunch of money, but since you havent taken a class, why not drop a little extra, get some good training and sign off on your CCW?

Even if Colorado adapts the same laws that Alaska has for CCW doesn't mean you shouldn't take a class. There are a lot of knuckleheads in AK that don't know what they are doing and have no business carrying.

Ill agree to good training but I have yet to hear of a ccw class around here that offers good training, so why spend $100 on a ccw class when you could roll that money into a actual training class where they tought you relistic things instead of how to hit paper standing still from 10 ft away. As to spelling it was early and honestly I passed that class long ago im not trying to impress you f*ckers with my linguistic abilitys.

I'm gonna half-ass plug our training class...just to give some perspective on a lot of discussions that go on here.

My partner and I give a class that's 10 hours long. We start early and go all day. We even have students eat lunch during a lecture. This is NOT a certificate mill.

My partner is an airline pilot/sworn federal officer/instructor at Front Sight. Very well qualified. I'm a long time police firearms instructor, former Air Force Combat Arms Instructor and I've been teaching CCW in CO for over 10 years (also certified in UT). Not tooting horns, just saying our qualifications and experience level go far beyond your basic "NRA Pistol" instructor.

We spend a lot of time covering the basics and a lot of time on legal issues. We provide a comprehensive handout that covers EVERYTHING we discuss with plenty of references.

We do not do live fire. However, we use an interactive computer simulator that puts the student into real-life shoot/no-shoot situations...very similar to judgmental training simulators that LE uses. Unless you've been in a lethal force situation you really can't imagine how fast they unfold. We also stress continuing education and appropriate "live-fire" training...stressing that our class is just the beginning...not the end-all...of our student's gun training and education.

We also provide snacks and drinks. We pretty much work our asses off during the class.

We charge a whopping $119 for this. I consider that to be cheap for what we provide.

So, the point really isn't to push our training class...that info is out there if you're looking. The point is we feel we provide an unbeatable price and outstanding training for the average person looking for a class. No one leaves our training wanting for more information. We also provide realistic firearms training that is (we think) far more likely to prepare people for what to expect in a lethal force encounter over the standard 20-30-40 round live-fire "qualification" courses others provide.

If you've never been in a lethal force encounter I can't stress how useless "training" that only requires you to fire your gun under conditions of no stress, good lighting, no perceived threat, no time limits, not drawing from a holster/concealment, etc...really is.

see this would be a better altertive than some of the other class...then comes problem two for some people, me included, do you do these classes in the week? Because it will be a cold day in hell when I have weekends off next.
