    Default Rm300

So the mud on my cleats has finally dried.
While it was a little muddy, I had a great time AND didn't get DQ'd. I was handed some pretty valuable nuggets of info from a couple of decent shooters that really helped out. How to pick up a gun from a table... I got to witness it done wrong 2x, and a guy next to me explained what happened and how to avoid having the mag drop out after the first shot.
Making a mag change properly (not holding gun too far away) and a couple of others.

I only had one bad (really bad) stage and that was 5. I need to get intimate with the steel. I figured out that I was pushing my shots (left) It was so bad that I was aiming at one plate and the one two to the left went down.

I made sure to thank the RO's after each stage. (another nugget). I had an RO ask if I was a newer shooter (lol) He said I had great muzzle control and safe handling skills. This was awesome to hear.

The Sunday shoot off was pretty fun too. Didn't make it out of the first round, but it was close. The time of my reload to target engagement was just to slow. I have a few things to work on and won just about my entry fee back in giveaways. Jerry did an AMAZING job at running the match and the prizes were incredible and numerous.

    Thanks to all!

I think I had the honor of meeting you on Saturday!

What you witnessed this past weekend is typical RM300 weather. This year Jerry moved the date of the match a few weekends from when it was typically held in the hopes of escaping the rain but, once again the skies blesses us with a monsoon. Good times nonetheless!

You got the mud off already?!! Wow, you work fast. I'm still getting mud out of everything & I retained all my mags rather than drop them in the soup. Glad you had a good time, it seemed everyone else did as well despite the afternoon shower that made the mud much more fun. I heard Hannau won the event and the shootoff....couldn't have happened to a better person.

You should have been there to watch it. The shoot-off between Hannu and Glenn was epic. Blink and you missed it!!

Thank you for the words of encouragement! A lot of what I have heard so far has been what I was doing wrong, it is encouraging to hear of the things I am doing right! The honor of meeting you was all mine!

I'll take mud, I'd do it again and day (with more mags for stage 5)

    Thanks again!

Trust me, if they didn't think you were worth telling what you can address to shoot better, they wouldn't say anything at all. Take that free advise and run
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.

Roger that! I had a couple of people very willing to help me out. One of the master (or GM) shooters heard us newbies talking. He was extremely helpful the entire time, not overbearing. He'd ask how I was thinking about shooting a stage and give me just 1 or 2 ideas on how to make it more efficient, not 12 things...

Even though it was free advice, it was all good. Stuff that I could use immediately... They put it in simple terms for me and I came away with some great info.

I have to remember not to smile so much to keep the mud out of my teeth... I had a really good time.

Not possible. Who doesn't smile while shooting (or shooting at in my case) 40+ targets in under a minute and no chance keeping the mud out of anything during the 300...

Agreed.... shooting at... I wish I could have thrown my trail of empty mags at the last few targets I didn't have bullets for...

At least you didn't have guys picking up and loading dropped mags while you were still shooting the stage your first year!
