Good luck to ya man--stick with it.
I've been smoking for 45 years now--I'm thinkin' of trying to quit again but I just really like to smoke.
I've tried quitting a few times in the past but the longest I ever lasted was about a week. After a few days I always felt that I went this long so one cigarette won't hurt--it does--next thing you know it's up to a pack + a day.
I have tried those patches but they're really tough to keep lit

I quit Cigs 3+ years ago...I found that the hardest thing for me was re-training your mind on what to do when you would normally be having a cig; wake-up, after meals, bored. My dentist gave me some mint packets that helped but alas after 6mo my brother in law brought back some cuban cigars and I figured "eh I wont get hooked on stoggies". Well needless to say I now smoke Swisher sweets mini's in grape. So I'll be hopping on the wagon soon guys!

I went cold turkey on booze and cigs when my son was born-27 years ago. When you take away 2 huge addictions like those you suddenly have a huge vacuum to fill. Hobby time !!

I quit 6 months ago after smoking 36 years. Nothing helped me. I did find that if I took a walk and drink lots of water that helped me. I still have my good days and bad days but I am determined to stay cigarette free. I bought a para ordnance 40 S & W with the money I saved. I named the gun winston,

I'm sitting outside having a beer with my brother. He's chain smoking pretty much. Thought about asking to bum one but instead I pulled out my phone and re-read this thread.

Good for you pal, stay strong with me!

Man its funny what people recommend, I too have been drinking a ton of water, and the wife and I actually went for a walk tonight before dinner.

Thanks so much to everyone for all of the success stories. I really know I can do this, especially after I do 25 push ups and can hardly breate, it reminds me of why I am quitting

Get down wind of a smoker, people who smoke smell terrible. I actually do better when I am around somebody that smokes, still like to the smell.
Nonsmokers would say I'm crazy, but I loved to smoke, But after 36 years i made up my mind I was not going to die attached to an oxygen bottle.
Stay tough, your are not alone!!!!!!!!!!

Gotta say thanks to ByteStrike for the quote "just one and everything undone". Literally had a smoke in hand tonight and put it down after repeating that phrase in my head. Lucky for me that quote popped into my head before that cigarette hit my lips and I handed it back to its rightful owner. I think I'd be pretty pissed about now if I had let myself do that.
