Hey the bike that just left for Sturgis from our shop has Elephant hide for a seat...
His reference to Stargate wasn't related to complex astrophysics, it was in relation to religion and spiritual beliefs expressed through the show. It's an analogy by comparison to a TV series that ran for like 17 years.
I think what you're trying to get at is called Grahams Number:Hawking did state that the infinite expanse would be impossible to calculate for us being such a small speck in the wide spectrum of the universe, so I think that explains his lack of theory on the matter, because theory is impossible if it's infinite. You cannot physically calculate infinity, it's not possible so therefore if the universe is infinite we would never be able to tell because you couldn't prove or disprove something so big (that's really the only word I can come up with) and just taking time to measure it would be more than the entire existence of an entire species... we're talking sextillion years here minimum (that's 10 to the 21st power -21 0's). Okay, I need to go put myself on O2 now...
The question of universal expansion, of whether or not we live in a runaway universe that will eventually die cold; or one in which gravity eventually wins, collapsing back on itself in a implosion of all the matter and mass, all the black holes and stars, galaxies and dark matter piling back into one spot is an interesting question. Where's that grammar nazi to flag my runaway sentence?Graham's number is unimaginably larger than other well-known large numbers such as a googol, googolplex, and even larger than Skewes' number and Moser's number. Indeed, the observable universe is far too small to contain an ordinary digital representation of Graham's number, assuming that each digit occupies at least one Planck volume. Even power towers of the formare useless for this purpose
I think that question is almost philosophical in nature. It currently seems the evidence points to a runaway universe, where everything is getting farther away at a faster rate. This would indicate that the big bang was a one time event, which makes it an anomaly. I somewhat prefer the concept of an eventual collapse, as it seems like bringing all the mass of the universe back to a single point would have to be something like a repeat of the big bang, a reset of the universe -- and quite possibly changes to the laws of physics.

House hunt = annoying. DO the people trying to sell their house not realize that when 4 houses around you sold for 80k less than what you're listing for .. you're not going to sell... and you're a damn fool if you think I can't see what you purchased the house for 2 years ago and just because you threw some paint on the walls you expect to make a 90% profit.. F U..
That's how house hunting is going. /facepalm..
Yes.. I still plan on going to the fun show. I really wanna go punch holes in paper atm.
