    SA Friday hit the nail on the head.
    For a SD pistol the only mods you want are ones that will enhance reliability.
    Good, solid and functional sights.
    Quality fire control components.
    Trigger work- toss the idea of the crisp 3# trigger. For a defense pistol you want no less than 4# and more preferably 5 or so. You want a trigger that while crisp breaking takes a conscious and dedicated action to fire the weapon. No AD's in a stressful situation.
    Quality extractor and ejector.
    Quality magazines-Wilson, Chip McCormick. Leave the factory and ProMags for the range sessions.

    I honestly wouldn't waste my time or money changing up the current guide rod assy.you currently have. That's just me though.

    One has a one piece full length guide rod and the other does not. At least I have the option now ha ha
