    Default 1979 Cutlass

[quote] My 79 Cutlass 388 stroker with vortec heads with 202/160 manley titanium valves tripple valve springs pocket ported and shaved to 60cc's Edelbrock RPM intake and 507/510 lift cam with a 284/294 duration, turbo 350 transmission with a nasty shift kit 4.11 Richmond gears with a nice eaton posi, headers and a really nice custom 3 inch dual exhaust with the sickest H pipe I have seen. The car is incredibly fast love putting down Rice burners in it, that is one of my favorate past times the future things I am going to do, built 700R4 transmission with manual valve body reverse shift and trans brake, I like the lower first gear in the 700R4 with the ET streets I will be shocked if she does not bring the front tires off the ground. It was built for NOS but have never had a use for it, but I am thinking of a 175 shot just to have it, and will probably have the set up all the way up to 200 shot I believe it will handle it, it is built solid. I was also thinking of doing H-beam connecting rods so I can spray a 100 to 125 shot coming out of the hole and then hit a second stage 200 going into second or third probably third. next time the car hits the track it will get kicked off for no roll cage which is in the near future also, just want to get kicked off of the track for being to fast first. I am sure I am forgetting alot of stuff I have so much work into the car it is not even funny. Also going to do the lowering springs to drop the front and back, it has air shocks to control how high the rear end rides, maybe drop spendles instead I am not sure yet, going with all poly graphite bushings I want the thing to corner as well as be fast, it corners pretty good with the 4 link rear end but it needs new bushings. Body and paint, it has all new body panles and new black pearl paint, the pictures do it no justice. It has been run out at the track with 3.42 gears that were binding up I had the stock cam in it with 76cc heads and a stealth intake to try to pass emissions and street tires that are on it in the pictures. 14.8 was the best time, with all the new stuff it should at least take 2 seconds off if not more. Here is a shot of the Engine with all the old stuff, will update when she comes out to play again.

All that work for only a 14.8? Should have just turbocharged it.

The A/G bodies are great cars. I put a 455 in place of the 301 in my 80 Grand Am in 84. Have to put a pic up when I get home.

I still have one left and that is the 86-1/2 Grand Prix 2+2.
I see you running, tell me what your running from

Nobody's coming, what ya do that was so wrong.

Like I said that was before and it has never seen a set of tail lights I wont even waste the race fuel on a mustang anymore, it is scary now and when something pulls up and hears it they dont even give it a try. And even if it still ran a 14.8 that is a fast street car, I had an 82 Z28 that ran a 12 flat, and this car is very close if not faster I have to put her back on the track next year, I can only run her at the KBPI car show so I can run without a cage. And thanks for all the compliments Guys the pictures do her no justice looks way better in person, I will see if I can post some pictures from the last show.

Pretty nice ride man! You need to get some gear in that sucker though! lol. I hate to say it, but 14.8 isn't that fast for a street car anymore buddy. It was, back in the 90's. With all these production pony cars running that or better from the factory, and minor boltons...even at our altitude, its a bit slow. Nice car though, cool to see something different for sure!

Oh and btw....i've got a set of tailights i'd be more than happy to show you! Better have that bottle heated up with the big jets brother!
