    Unhappy Just did the math...

So a friend brought up in discussion today that she may have lost the love of her life when her boyfriend of a little under a year broke up with her. She feels distraught and it got me thinking... when was my last girlfriend?

HOLY CRAP! 8 years ago! Sure I've "dated" girls since, but haven't really had a real "relationship" with a girl (ya know, the kind that you spend a lot of time together, spend the night at each other's places, refer to them as 'girlfriend', etc.) since 2003. Granted I was in the Army for 4 of those years and due to moving and training, deployment, and lack of good women where I was stationed I somewhat avoided it for the time being, but between then and now, and prior to I've been single! It doesn't look like that'll find me soon... so question for you guys, at age 26 should I start getting worried if I ever want to have kids and be young and energetic enough to coach my kid's sports?

My advice is not to go rushing into something because you think a clock is ticking. You'll be fine.

Good friend of mine turned 35, freaked out, and eloped a girl he knew for 2 weeks (this was last month).

Fast forward to today, 3 new text messages on my phone when I woke up:

    I
    AM
    RETARDED

Currently getting divorced. Asked if he was going to have the pleasure of getting 1/2 his stuff given away: "Well. She took my groceries and my toothpaste when I kicked her out. We'll see what happens next. I'm hiding the guns."

I'm turning 27 next month, been with my girl a year and a half, and not even remotely interested in getting married/kids anytime soon.

i always had girlfriends a few long term, date my high school sweetheart for 9 years. did not meet my now wife until i was 27, did not have kids or get married until i was 30, was way better off for having waited. had better career more money avoided all the hassles of being broke and having kids until i could really support and care for them they way they should be. although i would not have wanted to be alone i am glad i waited to get married.
