It is not insurance- employers pay SUI and FUI taxes. Insurance would imply it is a voluntary premium- it is not. Employees do not pay those taxes. Insurance also implies that the premiums are sufficient to cover the benfits promised. They are not- both the state and federal programs are under water. Unemployment benfits are an entitlement program like any other the government sponsors. Employers pay the taxes and you do too, indirectly when the .gov spends more than it takes in.

Here's where I will clash with many people. I believe I actually caused a minor stir and a tsk tsk (when I was more of a noob thant I am now) when I put my opinion up on this last time buuuut...

A real patriot would take pride in his country and feel disgusted and outraged at the illegals being in the country in the first place. He would do what he could to remove them from his personal area of responsibility, which happens to be the United States of America, and which may entail what some see as uncalled for illegal (by whos standards?) acts of aggression and violence directed towards the illegals in question, whilst others, such as myself see as repelling invading beggars, slackers, degenerates, leeches, poisons and stains upon our great soil.

What kind of patriot are you? The idle soft spoken patriot, the patriot nervous of taking action due to the repercussions, that patriot that gets their patriot "fix" by buying American once a month, or the patriot who's willing to step up and fight a fight worth fighting?

RE: What kind of patriot...? I'm the kind that writes my elected representatives, votes for those inline with my beliefs and makes my opinions known. I'm not sure what else you're suggesting.

As far as the statement you made (in bold in the quote box): For the most part, they're illegal. Like the majority of people illegals come in all flavors with various moral standards. Should they be removed from the country? In my open, unquestionably. I wish there was an easy way to do it and secure the border so they don't come back unless it was through legal means.

But I've seen far more "citizens" that might meet that description than illegals. I don't think it's appropriate to label them all with such harsh terms and I certainly wouldn't perpetuate violence against them just because they're here illegally.

Frankly, I think that statement is pretty over the top...if I'm understanding your meaning.

I think you have the right idea. While I do not regret my views, I do regret airing them on a board in such a free manner as well as to complete strangers.

The thing that gets me... my wife and I worked hard to find at least one job between the two of us that had good insurance. I'm thankful that we had that before she got pregnant, and throughout her pregnancy. I thank God we don't have to pay the entire $20,000 it would have been to out of pocket everything for the pregnancy, and that it's down closer to below $5000.

What kills me is, a good chunk of our bill is going to a slush fund for illegal immigrants to pay off the debts they incur that they either can't pay or more likely refuse to pay, but since they aren't in the system, and I, my wife, and my beautiful daughter are, we can be tracked down and pinned with that crap.

Being an honest, upright, working citizen can kick you in the ass sometimes.

My favorite thing is when people say "well you can afford that, because you're not an illegal immigrant that makes blah blah blah."

Oh yes, me and my $15 an hour job supporting my incredible stay at home wife (I truly mean that... I couldn't deal with a screaming baby all day) and 5 month old daughter... totally... we have TONS upon TONS of money.

Oh crap, this isn't 1956... $15 an hour for a household of 3 is barely getting by... hmmmm.

    Yet we DO IT!!!!!

    Eff.

I commend you Mevshooter. I've got a $15/hr job and I don't think I could support our family on it. It'd be extremely difficult.

To be honest, we are living with my mom right now. As much for her sake as it is for ours. My dad left her high and dry with two mortgages, so we pay one of them and she lets us live here.

Times are crazy hard right now, and to be 100% honest we couldn't make it through if it wasn't for me going to school and getting kick backs from my student loans. I know we still have to pay it back, but no banks can match the 10 year, and super low interest rates of a student loan.

But crazy thing, we are actually going to PAY BACK our student loans.

Man... all this talk about paying back what we owe... starting to sound un-American...
