He might not have a smart phone, I don't. I have a pos that makes calls, and usually stays at home unless we're traveling. Watches still have their place, however, if he does have a smart phone, there are much better things that $200 can get him, like, ammo.Originally Posted by ScooterCO

I have a smart phone. Funny thing about smart phones though is they are easier to lose in the backcountry than something strapped to your wrist. Weird how that works. Her wanting to get me a gift gives me an excuse to buy a pretty nice watch to take in the backcountry but it unfortunately has to meet her classy standards as well.

Up until I got a cell phone, it was a Timex Expedition Ingiglo with a green face.
If I had to wear a watch now it would be vintage Bulova, Elgin, Hamilton... Then I would be too worried about breaking it and just use my cell phone.

Don't let the prices throw you, google or sign up for the mailing list and they always have some sort of coupon thing, used to be 50% all the time, or order somewhere else that has normal pricing.
Also they are owned by Seiko so quality is there, I have 4 or 5 between me and the wife, really nice for the price.
