Even in the Gun Community i'd say atleast %50 wouldn't care if the AWB was back. I think it will happen sooner than we think. How long till the trading section is shut down?
Red,White & Blue means Freedom, until its flashing behind you.
If the seated president wins a second term, I could see an attempt at an AWB. I would think the American people had spoken on the issue after his last election. The backlash to the democratic party was pretty sound. Hopefully that will be enough to deter another attempt.
In reality, did the last AWB accomplish anything? From the research I have done (by no meads exhaustive) I cannot find anything to show that the AWB reduced crime, gunshot deaths or assaults.

Either way we will see the 2cnd attacked.
If BHO gets a second term he will go after it with great zeal. He promised while in Denver during the DNC he would "see that military type weapons are forever off the streets of America"
If not re-elected he will be passed and will have a lame dick session where I am sure he will leave a nice and steamy pile of EO's.
Just Google his "Firearms voting record".

Bert is right again, we'll see something whether Obama wins or not.
An EO can be over-turned if there is a 2/3 vote against the EO.
http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-an-executive-order.htmWhile the power of the executive order seems broad, there are checks. One check is Congress's ability to overturn executive orders, much in the same way that it may overturn a presidential veto. A two-thirds vote of both houses (i.e., both the Senate and the House of Representatives) is required to overturn an executive order. This means that it can be extremely hard to overturn an executive order, since most members of Congress typically vote along party lines.
