In reality, did the last AWB accomplish anything? From the research I have done (by no meads exhaustive) I cannot find anything to show that the AWB reduced crime, gunshot deaths or assaults.

We all know this, but the anti's don't care to use facts to make their case, they prefer to use emotion. If they spent their time and energy trying to find the root cause of the problem instead of blaming hte tool used by the offenders, then maybe things could actually improve.

Well put, people don't think it can happen, but I missed out on a pair of Russian AK underfolders for $150 each. Went back in and they were $2,000 each.

Don't get me wrong, I fully anticipate some type of anti 2nd amendment legislation in the near future. The "need" for it is my question. Yes, feel good legislation gets votes. Just look at any of the crime dramas on TV and you will see that every criminal has an automatic assault rifle. This round will probably not have a sunset and be more ridiculous.
