I saw a 3rd gen g19 today for 450.00 and frame-slide had proof marks. Have never seen one before. Are they anything special?

Sounds like maybe there revamping there qc.I dont think that its anything special, just showing they are looking over them real good before they put them to market.
I recall that Glock imported some Austrian G19s which would have proof marks - 2008-2009 timeframe? I don't recall the serial number range, easily discovered with a quick Google search or referencing the serial number project on GlockTalk

Under Austrian firearms manufacturing laws (and most European Countries as well), final assembly requires proving and the application of proof marks indicating it has been proved per applicable laws.
Since most Glocks sold in this country are assembled here, no such proving marks are required or applied to these particular examples.
Nothing special. Just indicates the gun was assembled and proved in Austria.
