    Default proof marked, mean anything?

I saw a 3rd gen g19 today for 450.00 and frame-slide had proof marks. Have never seen one before. Are they anything special?

I recall that Glock imported some Austrian G19s which would have proof marks - 2008-2009 timeframe? I don't recall the serial number range, easily discovered with a quick Google search or referencing the serial number project on GlockTalk

Amazing their, there, they're quote right they're (purpose).

Additionally, I have heard of them, but I have never hear them referenced as special or valuable over normal units. Don't know much else unfortunately.

So all the glocks you own have proof marks? I've owned literally hundreds, and have not seen one with proof marks. Hence the question.

Yes, hence the answer. All my center fire pistols and some of the rim fire have proof marks. The proof mark in different areas and you may not see one except on the bbl. A lot of foreign ,mfg's do most of their stuff in the us to get around import fees and bans.

Under Austrian firearms manufacturing laws (and most European Countries as well), final assembly requires proving and the application of proof marks indicating it has been proved per applicable laws.

Since most Glocks sold in this country are assembled here, no such proving marks are required or applied to these particular examples.

Nothing special. Just indicates the gun was assembled and proved in Austria.

Thank you, that makes sense. I just never seen one on a glock, so obviously all the ones I've seen were made here.
