I'll rustle some jimmies by saying this, but malware is much more of a threat on android, than on, iOS.
ETA: not that it should be deal-breaker or anything, just stirring the pot.

Once you jail break, that problem is gone, I can run pretty much anything now and the phone is totally custom to how I set it.
I had a droid and had to replace it 3 times in a years time, do I went with the iPhone and haven't looked back. Plus it just looks way better IMO.

I have both. The iphone is easier but if you like to customize droid wins. The droid also allows you to use SD cards. Typical apple you can't expand the iphone. You are stuck with what it has or buying another phone to upgrade.
I do love how customizable Android is. I put a slick new ROM on my Galaxy Nexus today while my wife is complaining about how she can't remove icons from her home screen on her iOS device, an iPad 2. Jail breaking is an option but you don't have to worry about going through a similar process on Android in order to simply customize the layout of your phone.
Android. Easier to find and install apps. You don't have to pay for many so when you are over them in a couple months, you can uninstall and move on.
I've gained this knowledge mostly from malware authors. IIRC, less than 400 lines of code can allow someone to: sniff SMS/MMS messages, hide SMS/MMS messages, and send SMS/MMS messages. I'm pretty sure I can find the code, if you'd want to see it.
Quick search turned this up on QR malware for Android:

For all you guys talking about how customizable the Andriod is I would agree. That being said, once you jail break the iPhone it's a different animal, you can pretty much do whatever you want. I haven't paid for a single app since I jail broke my phone.
Do some searches on jail breaking iPhones or look at the vids on YouTube.....
I've heard that you even rooting an Android-based phone can't rid it of bloatware. Is this true?
