Reports of structure fires now on Flying W Ranch road & new evacuation orders for parts of Rockrimmon.
All hell broke loose just after 4:00. Those storms in Park county pushed the fires east very quickly.
My wife is on the Crisis Action Team for Peterson AFB, and they have been called up. The base housing on the Air Force Academy has been issued an evacuation order and the cadet wing (about 3000 of them are currently at the Academy) has been told to pack a duffle bag and be ready to go before 8pm.

7k people evacuating rockrimmon area, I have to take woodmen home and the 25 and every eastbound road on the north end of town is a MESS. Centennial was closed to incoming traffic, making both sides one-way towards Garden of the Gods. The whole freaking town is covered in smoke and falling ash. All the way out to 24 east of town...
Breathing ash and smoke here. It reminds me of the burnpits in Iraq and Afghanistan. My boss lives in Rockrimmon and he had to evacuate. This shit is crazy.
Saw that same scene this afternoon at work in town, the Constitution corridor. 146.970 FM was busy with traffic with this rapidly developing.
Just got back from the mess: went over to Centennial to help evac my sis-in-law, could hardly see, ash everywhere, what a mess. Police turned everyone away @ Centennial & 30th, lots of fire trucks entering that area, GoG Road is closed, Centennial was shutdown & all lanes were used for Southbound traffic for evac. It's nuts!

One on my really good friends is an officer in Manitou. He said this thing just blew up this afternoon and it's crazy down there right now. Prayers for all those in its path....
It did. The fire literally starting jumping around 1600 today. Crazy!
