I doubt it was someone unrelated. He had his apartment rigged for when the cops showed up. This sounds too planned to allow for the chance of not being able to get into the theater.

Kind of what I thought.

Maybe it was his friend, James Holmes may have said he would call him when he got there and had his friend open the door for him to save money on a ticket....you just never know. The friend may have been completely caught by surprise as well. Or Maybe James Holmes said he was going to come in a costume...maybe even throwing out a smoke bomb for effect.

What a terrible turn of events. Makes me wonder what the movie theaters are now going to do in regards to safety? It will turn into trying to get onto an airplane just to go see a movie.

It's not unreasonable to think that in a theater full of people, someone would get up to answer banging on the door, even just to shut them up. Curiosity killed the cat, too.
