Friends, this site is DEFINITELY under the scrutinity of multiple news sources from around the globe. I've seen new accounts today from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and USA Today and I've just gotten started looking at them.

If news sources are checking us out, you know the government is as well.

We need to be especially mindful of what we say and how we portray ourselves and firearms in general.

I know that every member here is a good decent person and we come from all walks of life, but there will certainly be those who will attempt to portray a passion for firearms as something sick and twisted due to the actions of an evil and sick individual. Let's ensure the world see's the best that we can be and maybe they might realize that it's the individual, not the tool, that must be vilified here.

For anyone who wonders where the CCW holders were that night, I cannot imagine trying to shoot accurately while choking on tear gas (I've done that before... it's darn near impossible) WHILE in a very dark room with only flashing lights from the screen, AND with innocent people running everywhere, AND at probably more than 20 yds away.. I am not that skilled of a shooter.

This is very true. I just took a defensive shooting class and a few things I know now that I assume before to be correct are no longer so.

Shooting in low light is hard and sometimes is only a guess based on what you last saw.

When someone is shooting at you all reason and planning go out the window. So unless you are very well trained you may not act correctly.

Stay safe people and send good thoughts to the victims.

Haha! I've fired a 40mm handgun (the Army's new grenade launcher) That thing's a BEAST! It's definately no .40 cal!

I understand that all of us here are firearms enthusiasts, but in light of yet another mass murder, it is time for us to look at some cold hard facts.

The media has made it clear that this morning's events were the fault of the guns and the tea party. From this, we can draw only one logical conclusion: Your guns snuck out in the middle of the night and joined the tea party, and you did nothing to stop it. You need to accept some responsibility here.

Thats the whole problem. I've owned guns for a long time, including some types that have been used by military units worldwide. Now, once again, I have to defend my reasons for having them even though I've never so much as shot a living tree with them. None of that matters though since all gun owners/tea party supporters and the NRA are the epitome of evil in the eyes of the liberals and the media. Im sick of it.
