last I checked, Kapersky doesn't fix registry errors or remove rootkits
true, but if you can remove the virii you can mostly get in to fix things or at least save what is important. rootkits are a pain but in most cases I have seen are a lower level problem. your mileage may vary though.
You guys do realize that the majority of us unwashed heathens have NO idea what the hell you're talking about, right? That's what makes this little magic thingie perfect for us. Maybe one of you 'puter whizzes should make and market something like this? Make yerself a million bucks and throw a BBQ for the rest of us.
Hello- my name is Corey Velan and I'm a founder of FixMeStick. Just wanted to clear up that the FixMeStick connects to our backend every time it is run to get all the latest malware definitions so it can clean up the latest and baddest malware. Also, the FixMeStick does remove rootkits, but doesn't clean up the registry. The FixMeStick gets the really bad stuff out of the way and then most regular anti-virus programs can clean up the registry.
after researching this more
Byte Stryke approves.
I'm seriously considering sending one to my Mom
We have a google alert (http://www.google.com/alerts) set up that sends us an email whenever FixMeStick appears on the web. I'd be happy to answer any more questions if you have them.
