Superior nailed it: 'Denver Resident'. Don't live in Denver.

Not trying to start an argument, but seeking clarity. If it is just the mags that are prohibited in Denver why can't gunshops in Denver sell AR-15's? Like when Sportsman's Warehouse on south Wadsworth was still there they could not carry/sell AR's because they were in Denver. I agree that private ownership is not prohibited unless you have 21 round or more mags but AR's must be purchase outside of Denver.

Probably the same reason some online vendors will not ship High Cap mags to Colorado in general. It's not that they can't read, it's the comprehension that get's them. Or with the lawsuits against manufactures maybe they didn't want to be held liable for selling them there.
Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Haw haw haw?..

I hope your kidding?
Before I found this wonderful site and a couple others with great firearm information on legality this and that
I called the Denver Sheriffs office and asked them about carrying in a vehicle in the city and county of Denver, this was back in 2007.
She said it was illegal to have the pistol with a round chambered on your person or within reach of you.
The pistol had to be locked away and no ammo near by, think of NY or NJ here, and that this was to prevent road rage shootings.
The Sheriff's Deputy was 100% incorrect and just because they are with a LEO Agency, does not mean they understand the specific firearm laws.
They understand what they want to protect themselves from criminals.
