When seconds count, the police are just minutes away.

First let me say that the aurora PD did a fantastic job in responding to the shooting at the Century Theater last week. They were there in force in about 1 minute, 30 seconds - very fast (certainly not typical for most capabilities of LE - just spread to thin).

Sadly, 1 minute, 30 seconds just isn't ever quick enough. Since we can't carry a law enforcement officer with us every/anywhere we go, we must all take on the responsibility of personal safety.

I'm amazed at how many people just can't understand this.
