Dude needs a basic lesson in the definition of a neo-con.

    Discuss.
Or, perhaps you do. The article simply calls out the dick-measuring tough guy's position that he's going to fight the armed state's power to confiscate your gun.

So, the coppers come to your door wanting your guns. Are you going to make your stand right then and there? Are you?

Since you're a member of this board my question to you is...why wouldn't you?

Similar to one of my favorites, a sentiment expressed by Samuel Adams:

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”

I'm with Chad on this one- usually they're just plain old good, but that one he quoted... Damn, way to just come out and put them on their head. Seriously, anything worth fighting for is worth dying for, and freedom is just one of those things. There may come a day when the unthinkable happens, and when a line is drawn in the sand which side are you going to be on as a gun owner? Will you side with those that will turn them in (reluctantly or not)? Or will you stand up and say "no, this is not what America is about!"? I know for one, I'll be on the side standing up for my freedom, if it costs me my life then at least I died standing up.

They won't do confiscation. They will do exactly what they did in California with the AWB bit by bit - sure you can keep yours, but you can't transfer them to anyone (and nobody can inherit) Again, they are patient people.

95-99.9% of the people on this board, if given the chance to live and let live, and keep their guns, would do so. It's a simple truth. There will be a lot of chest thumping in reply, but you guys with families, or blah blah blah, or whatever excuse you make in the moment, blah blah blah. If they let YOU still keep YOUR firearms, you won't go over the edge for somebody else.

It won't happen all at once if it does happen either. First it will be AWB, Magazine ban, then handguns, then () etc.

Firearm owners are pretty naive sometimes.

Now, there is no guarantee it ever happens. The internet is a powerful weapon, which could keep us free for a very long time. But the they are looking to control it too. If that happens, then everything is a turd in the stream from that point.
    Well stated.

Foxtrot is right. The gun community is shrinking. More and more people are raised never handling a real gun. There was a recent thread about trying to teach modern plugged in youngsters to shoot and how boring they found it compared to their shooter games.

The anti's got slapped around and outmaneuvered when they tried for real bans. They can play the long game and win. Ranges shut down. Liability insurance popping up. Regulations/taxes make ammo hard to get & expensive.

Who's going to go out in a blaze of glory when online ammo sales get shut down? A 3 day waiting period? I've been hearing for decades that the 'blue helmets', 'black helicopters', 'Russian troops training in Texas' and every sort of other absolute ban was coming down.

It still could happen if things get bad fast enough but I'm still betting on the long road down.

    Steve
