I'd say that would be a vote for the "I want to believe" option. Maybe I should have avoided the use of X-files humor.

Sorry I can't possibly cover every category with this human brain.

You have to realize that the Milky Way galaxy is pretty remote in comparison to the rest of the known universe. Traveling to Earth by any other species would be quite a road-trip, and for what? WTF would another intelligent species want to discuss with us? "Hey, we know you guys can't agree with each other within your own countries much less the planet, but we travelled at infinite expense to just come say hi..." Uh huh.

The only reason another species would come here is for resource plundering and there are plenty of other planets they can go to for that without the long road trip. Hell, there's at least one other planet and another entire moon made of water within out own solar system. I doubt there is anything so rare on our planet that they would have to out this far to find and mine it.

Then there's the "intel gathering" theory. Once again, this would be a huge energy cost to simply check us out. A basic parameter on the edge of our galaxy would be a more cost effect method.

How about the "study" theory. Ya, maybe, but for a species that has the ability to travel light years of space, this would be like staring at an ant farm. Just don't see it.

So, long explanation short, no UFO's. Not intentionally at least. The only way I can see this happening is an accidental crash.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.

Considering how I feel about driving across Kansas, any life form willing to cross vast distances of nothingness would be proof of drug influenced boredom or lack of real intelligence.

Considering what we knew about the universe 500 years ago to what we believe today; then extrapolating that to what our understanding about the universe 500 years from now will be, provides a better perspective for my own ignorance.

    Be safe.

Hmmm...remote you say? We keep our cattle and pig farms relatively remote. Why wouldn't aliens keep their favorite tasty animal in remote locations? As soon as the farm population gets dense enough, its time to harvest.

Couldn't you apply all of this to just about every old world explorer? "Hey Columbus, don't bother risking your life trying to cross the unknown, we can just go invade France."

No, not at all. Columbus was attempting to establish a more direct and controllable trade route with south east asia for the financial gain of Spain. There was both a monetary and resource benefit from it. The cost was relatively inexpensive for Spain too.

Default End of the Cold War

I don't know of the authenticity of this video. I wonder if the saucer crashed or was shot down? It is my understanding that the saucer in Roswell was shot down as it was near the US only nuclear bomb wing. I just hope we don't kill some high ranking ET's and then get our asses stomped...

I had an Uncle that worked at Area 51. He recently (couple years ago) died on the base. Don't know what the hell he did in the Air Force. I know he once was going to retire and they gave him money to stay. He told my cousin once that people like him don't get to retire. Well he was set to retire and came up dead...yea we all think its weird. No secret that he worked at the base..people from the base stayed with my cousin for a couple weeks after he died just to make sure they were ok. Told them that he was part of a very tight knit family and thats why they stayed with her like that. She nick named them spy one and spy two.

Who ever and whatever my uncle did I have no clue, but I know he knew experimental aircraft. Only reason I know this is because he told me that when he retired from the Air Force his friend had a job waiting for him in that field.

Now how it relates to this post. Once at his house my little brother pestered him the entire time about,"Are there Aliens". After a few days he told my little brother to shut the fuck up!! There's no such thing as aliens!!! That's words from the highest security clearance guy I'll ever know. Now maybe his was just getting pissed...maybe it was hitting a nerve because little brother was getting warm. The world may never know...but that's the only time I ever seen my uncle get mad or use language like that towards a kid. He was normally a very easy going kind of quiet guy.
