    Default EE Newbie rant

So I get a pm from a new person, they have what I want. I have what they want.
I didnt respond in time due to work and being out of town.

I tell the person Id like to figure it out when I get back to town in a couple weeks.

Well I never heard back from them and I notice the item is gone.

When did common courtesy go out of the window?? The time at which I received the PM
and that I responded was a no more that 35 -40 minutes.
I never received any response and only noticed this morning that the item was gone.

This is one of those times I feel that negative feedback is warrented. Only reason is due to the newness of the person.

At anyrate that my shitty rant.

C'mon Gabe- you can do better... put in a little more cursing, use some colorful language describing this person (maybe dog them out publicly here, give us a name - Kidding)...

I give it a 7/10... and that's only because you admitted it was a shitty rant!

I'm missing something from the rant. Just for clarification, it went something like this?

H: Newbie PMs you saying they want to do a trade.
H+35 min: You respond saying you want 2 weeks to figure it out.
H+24 hrs: You notice item is gone.

I guess I just don't understand why you think this deserves negative feedback. You told the guy you wanted to wait 2 weeks, he decided to pull chocks. It would be nice if he'd responded saying, "sorry, I don't want to wait that long" but it seems to me that's (unfortunately) uncommon courtesy. If I told someone I wanted them to wait a couple weeks for me to figure out whether I wanted to trade or buy their stuff, I wouldn't expect a response however much I'd like to get one.

Why on earth would someone wait 2 weeks or more for you to make up your mind? First person with cash or trade in hand gets it, imo.

If I tell everyone in the trading post, "Hey, I think I want your item, but gimme 2 weeks to decide, k?" I'm pretty sure they'll all tell me to pound sand, and rightfully so.

I wont be home for 2 weeks so how the hell am I going to do the trade.
I was busy at a rig and just sent that quick response.
There is no reply for anything. thats what Im getting at. Communication on
this person is probably not their strong suit.
Look at my feedback, this isnt my first rodeo.

I work in the fucking oilfield. Im here one day and gone the next. I have had plenty of folks
who have politely declined or waited X amount of time due to me being in North Dakota or bum fuck Texas.

The fact the person didnt respond is why i wanna leave neg feedback.
Pure bullshit in my opinion. Id leave the common courtesy for them.

It's a called courtesy for a reason - someone should do it, but they don't have to. If they did, it'd be called a common necessity, wouldn't it?

Should they have let you know? Sure, would have been nice. I don't think they're required to however, and I think leaving them negative feedback over it is a bit of a puss move just because your panties are in a wad. Put your big girl dress on, get over it, and move on.

That you are not free for 2 weeks is your life circumstance not his. Especially if you guys didn't work out a firm 100% deal. I'm in taiwan for 2 weeks, it would be crazy to tell someone hey I might want this when I'm back hold onto it. Recently I had an offer and I had to wait a few days to figure if it would work with a 3rd party. Offer dried up, my prblem for not getting it in stone quicker.

Its frustrating for sure ill give you that. Just like I was, but the anger shouldn't be at them for addressing their own needs. (Barring a firm agreement)

    Now that's how you rant!
I say leave negative feedback. It's one thing to say "Sorry I'd rather not wait 2 weeks," it's another to not even respond!
