I think this is a great idea. I work near the Capitol and live in Lakewood. That leaves us two different Yard House restaurants to go to (16th St & CO Mills). LOTS of beers on tap. And from 3-6 everyday, their appetizers are 1/2 off. I don't work there, just love good beer and food.
Anybody interested in doing one either this weekend or next? Post your thoughts on location and date and I'll help get it going.![]()
The invitation stands. I've had half a dozen people from this forum drop in and hang out for a beer or two. Trios Enoteca 1730 Wynkoop Denver 80202. Ask for Matt.
Bump this my wife works at Burkett Design on Wynkoop and I go down there to meet her for lunch sometimes. We may just have to stop in there. Good food?
I will try very very hard to come by Saturday afternoon -- if only to support pro-2A business.
That said a get-together for those of us at the south end of town (HR, Centennial, Parker, Castle Rock, etc.) would be quite good. JD's bait shop can be a decent place that is semi-central-ish. It can be fairly low-key on a non-Saturday night.
What is my joy if all hands, even the unclean, can reach into it? What is my wisdom, if even the fools can dictate to me? What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and impotent, are my masters? What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?

Understanding this is a pretty old thread, I'd be down for a happy hour. I like JD's, $2 PBRs IIRC. Hops Brewery at Bowles and Wadsworth in Littleton is another nice little mellow bar with great specials during happy hour.
Holy thread resurrection Batman!

Well what's the sense in starting a new thread?
I can't back this idea enough nontactical, er, Matt. See you Saturday, and most likely every Saturday after that.
Hipster that I am, I am all over the whole LoDo scene and I gotta say I agree with the core of your arguement, that the people who we are "against" are everywhere, socializing publicly and getting their opinions heard by the majority, the fence sitters who really hold our futures in their hands. We need to do the same.
Let's face it, lots of stereotypes are in place for a reason. The crazy gun-nut afraid to take the light-rail without a full combat load. The uneducated rural bumpkin who chugs PBR with a dip in his mouth. The redneck who considers Mossy Oak Brush "dressed up." Sadly, these are the opinions I see in this thread. I mean, really, Chilis is great and all, yum yum, but this is supposed to show that certain territories have not been won by the lefties.
LoDo is the frontlines and we can't back down.
I am probably one of the guys most of the "old timers" hate at first glance. I'm young, a college student, and dress really preppy and ride my bicycle pretty much everywhere. I am also a Combat Medic (68W) who just got back from Kandahar, a new hunter, and AR-15 uberenthusiast. I consider myself a soldier in the war against guns, and the battles aren't taking place at the gun ranges. Anti-gunners don't generally GO to gun ranges, they drink WINE (which is delicious, btw, and I am gonna drink a LOT of it.) and we need to have calm discussions with people in the community to change our image. Sorry for the wall-of-word, I registered just to post this.
Great first post, and I wholeheartedly agree with you.
