CSPD now carrying M&P 9mm

I was talking to my brother last night and he told me they were getting rid of their pos 5906's and going to the M&Ps. He was pretty happy about that only because he hates the 5906. We got on the discussion because I'm debating replacing the 5906 that was stolen in my homes break-in (I liked the 5906) and was asking him why he likes his Glock. I just want a 15ish round gun for around the house. I'm looking at inexpensive if I replace my stolen 9mm because technically I already replaced it with the HK compact .45 I bought and it wasn't cheap. But I don't see why I can't replace it with another large capacity gun. I've been explaining to wifey why I HAVE to replace all my guns that were stolen, and the HK was just a temp fix until the insurance check got here. (I know you all can see my logic there)

because they have good pricing. He likes the M&P they have been test firing much more then the 5906, but still wishes they would let him carry his own choice. He does carry his Glock .40 as a backup. He suggested I buy the M&P .40 or .45 since he doesn't like the stopping power of the 9mm. I do believe he said the ones they are getting are 9mm.

edited to add: I did ask if any CSPD officers were still using revolvers and he said their is one older lady cop who does. He says they laugh about that.
