I was ready to go split the head of my shithead drunk of a neighbor a couple of nights ago. Had I not still been recovering from my motorcycle wreck, I probably would have. This jackass will get tanked up, let's his poor dog out late at night, then passes out on the couch before letting the dog back in. The dog gets cold, and barks to be let in. For hours. I first noticed the dog barking at about 23:45, called it in to Aurora PD (this is the fourth or fifth time he's done this and I've had to call it in to the PD over the last 3 years) at about 03:30. I totally blame the owner, as the dog rarely barks otherwise.

I think it was a Vet(Iraqi) that did it.. Owners were about to get in trouble for their dogs then they end up dead? Fishy

I see a lot of people on here that say that it was wrong to kill the dogs. The people renting the house next door to mine have 3 beagles, a lab, a boxer puppy, 3 chickens and some pot belly Pigs. I have called LE no less than ten times to report their animals being noisy (and I mean incredibly loud) and they have yet to receive a citation. They see the police out their window and call the dogs in, then they do not allow the police into their yard because they have an illegal (well legal now) grow operation going on. They are always on the lookout for cops, and they cannot issue a ticket without witnessing the animals making the noise. There is nothing that I can do to stop it, I just have to sit here while they bark all day and all night. I cannot do anything in the backyard because the dogs bark the whole time loud enough to where a normal conversation is not happening.

With that said I would not shoot the dogs because that is a dumb thing to get in trouble for. I try to reason with the neighbors, and for the most part they make a half ass attempt to help me out and keep the dogs in the house while I have company, but when I bought the house I had no idea the neighbors that would be moving in shortly after. It is the owners fault that the dogs are annoying the hell out of all of the neighbors, but as you can see they just didn't get it. How many citations do they need before they fix the problem? Now they get it.

I heard of some people just poison the dogs. Shooting is much more humane, but I don't condone any such illegal behavior. WTF is wrong with pet owners?

I wouldn't go that far. They may just get some new dogs and repeat the process, like my neighbors.
