We have two 3-Gun courses coming up...

Februray 15th at RWs range (RWFirearms Training). It will be more rifle intensive and we will do long range. For the close in rifle stuff, you can use a .22RF rifle as long as you have 20+ round mags. This course is intensive and will lay the foundation for a successful first 3Gun match. We will run from 10am until 4pm, $150 and we will limit this to 12 students. You should bring 25 slugs, 25 buckshot, 100 rounds of birdshot, 100 rounds of pistol and 150 rounds of rifle minimum. Appropriate for a first course provided you have solid pistol competition skills.

March 1 at CRC. It will be a little more shotgun intensive. We will spend about half of the 6 hours on the shotgun: loading, flippers, flyers, chokes, patterns loads, slugs, buckshot. 150 rounds of birdshot, 25 buck, 50 slugs, 75 pistol, 75 rifle. You can use a .22RF rifle and or pistol of you want, full power is fine too. $100 limited to 12 students. If you have taken our intro course, this is a great follow-up. Again, provided you have solid pistol competition skills, you can take this as a first course, however, we won't cover mid and long range rifle skills in this course.

If you have been wanting to take a CCW course, we will allow either of these courses to meet our range requirement. There is additional coursework, tests, homework, etc, so if you want to do this, don't delay. Propbably won't offer a package deal like this again.

    Mark,
Any particular recommendations on slugs? Or is a slug a slug?
So far very happy with my new 930 but excited to try it out in a more practical application.
    thanks

If you have not tried slugs, best bet is to get 2 or 3 boxes of each and see what your gun shoots well. Federal Tru-Balls seem to be one that is pretty accurate in all platforms and operates all platforms. I use the B&Ps and Remingtons, both reduced recoil.

    Anybody/Everybody,
    PSA:
I don't normally keep a lot of shotgun rounds on hand. Don't know why. Maybe just the bulk of it. I had to go through 4-5 of my 'standard' online vendors to find slugs which surprised me a bit! I know the .223/9mm etc etc is hard to come by but I didn't expect slugs to be in that high of demand.

Finally found Federal Truball at Wideners. Stocked up but likewise, per their email: "Please allow 14-24 days to process and ship out your order.
Thank you, Wideners." That puts it right on the bubble for delivery vs range time.
So anybody else heading the class, you might want to start looking now.

Don't let lack of slugs disuade you from coming. I have a stash for just this reason.

Youth (15 and under) take our classes for free! We will also loan out equipment, so don't think you have to go buy stuff to take the class.

Took less time than advertised and it looks like Wideners has some more in stock.
(I'll also have a few extra boxes that can be bought if someone needs some--at what it cost me).

So, the Feb 15 class was cancelled due to snow and cold. March 1 still has some slots available.

I have gotten 4 or 5 people tell me they want to come to the March 1 course. If you want to go, you need to give me a solid YES. There are a few slots left.
