I told my wife to start looking for places in WY, MT, and ID.
She can do her job anywhere and I will find work somehow, somewhere.
I dont have the words how pissed I am that this beautiful state where I was
born and raised has been transformed into a whirrling vortex of socialist clusterfuck-dom.

If it passes, we are out....

Any warm states that are better? I'm not only sick of the BS but the weather sucks too.

Just posted to facebook this morning, hopefully influencing the 160+ friends not to come here for vacation, hunting or mountain sports. I then asked them to cut and paste my words and put them on their pages. Viral? Maybe, or maybe not, but at least it's a start...
    Thanks,

No, I don't. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if for every letter of support they got for a ban they got 10 opposing.

That won't impact the die hard leftards in Denver that will vote away our rights, but it does illustrate that most Coloradoans don't support the gun ban agenda and it very likely will damage the Democrat stranglehold on power in Denver.

the numbers wont be there to cause the state any pain.

Get this... OVER 50% of the country voted for OSAMA. That should tell you something. And of the less than 50% that didnt vote for him, some are non gun owners, some are FUDDS, who are too stupid to realize any infringement is bad. A boycott wouldnt mean shit.

and when is the last time a boycott actually worked? the far right Christians boycott shit everyday. Nothing ever happens. after the first press conference its all over. the country is too large, too fractured and the people to absorbed in their own little worlds to actually do anything.

We and the NRA are partially to blame. We let certain states get away with mag limits and that opened the door. Way back when the first mag limit came along I contacted the NRA and asked what they were going to do about this obvious infringement. Their answer then and probably still now was to work to educate and work to vote more gun friendly candidates into office. The problem is the Repubs dog also has a load of fleas just like the Dems dog, just a different kind.

This fight needs to be taken to the courts. The NRA told me they fear doing that because the feel that if we lose in court we lose it all, forever. Well the SCOTUS backed us on the last few and the same judges are still in place. We need to overturn ALL state bans in one shot. I'm aware of the constant screaming for "states rights" but that is a double edged sword. The states need to be pre-empted from passing ANY gun control laws more restrictive than federal law. We need sweeping change and voting all repub is NOT the answer and never will be and will never happen anyway. It's time to take this to the courts no matter WHAT the downsides might be.

Well, I have to leave CO this summer and I will be sending a letter to the Governor, Secretary of State, my local Senator and Rep when I do to let them know I am shaking the dust of their oppressive state off my sandals and never returning. I was planning to come back for Elk season on my last resident permit, but not if this passes the full legislature.

I find it so humorous that there are many here who at the drop of a hat would have problem popping some raghead in filthy pyjamas thousands of miles away because they have been hoodwinked to believe he poses a threat to their freedom and liberty. Yet when confronted with an enemy who is actually taking their freedom and liberty right here on US soil they won't lift a finger. As Dan Bongino said in that video I posted earlier. Action is what is needed. Words mean nothing.

I have a few thoughts about "leaving the state" over these laws.

    • Back in 2002 I left Kansas. One of the myriad of reasons I moved from Kansas to Colorado was because at the time Kathleen Sibelius was the governor. Since we've moved the backlash against the left there has been fierce and now they have one of the most conservative governors the state has ever seen (former Senator Sam Brownback). So Kansas is now very much to the right of Colorado (more than just geographically). When I moved here there was a Republican governor and concealed carry in CO, neither of which were in Kansas. So things can change and change rather rapidly (unfortunately Kansas can't grow mountains overnight so they won't win me back).
    • If all the decent conservative folk "take their ball and go to a new home" then Colorado is just going to get worse. California does enough damage to the culture in America we don't need a second one. Maybe the time will come for decent conservative folk to leave, but I'm not convinced that now is the time.
    • Aside from the changes in politics over the past few years, I really really like living here (of course the more leftward the state moves, the less I'll like it and probably the less I'll be able to afford it).
    • At the moment, I couldn't afford to move if my hair was on fire.

I certainly understand the desire to leave (and honestly there are days I wake up with this intense feeling that I need to pack my shit and go) but I think there is still a chance to take the state back. That said, if it doesn't happen in the next election cycle or two then I'll concede its time to go as well.

Is that a call for violent action? Short of lining up registered Democrats, popping someone closer to home won't solve anything. Probably make things worse. Voting with your feet is an option in a Constitutional Republic.
