Okay I'll go ahead and say it on the record - and I do hope I am very wrong about this - within the year, there will be a terrorist attack involving knives on airplanes. Attack on freedom will ensue.

Please God, please let me be wrong!

The no locking part pretty much eliminates every single knife I would ever carry.
guess I'll still need to check a bag!

On second thought, the only reason this passed, is that the TSA hopes to increase the number of reportable confiscations. They want people to misread the law, try and bring a blade that is not permitted, then the confiscation will be reported as stopping a dangerous person. This will be used to fluff reports for future stats of the effectiveness of the TSA. Someone remind me how many terrorist attacks the TSA has prevented to date.

What good is your gun going to do you when you are seated in row 44 (window seat) and a terrorist and buddies with guns are sitting in row 1? He will be in the cockpit and have control of the aircraft before you can even crawl over the fat lady next to you to get out of your seat.
Cant get into the cockpit, they have locked and armored door. Even so, at least I am responsible for my safety, not relying on the "vigilance" of others, especially the TSA, who should be fired and the entire organization disbanded.

Really? Yanno they allowed guns on planes for many many years and shockingly none of them fell out of the air because of a wayward shot from a passenger. Maybe not watch as many movies?

Suppose the guy in the lane next to me on the highway has bald spots in his tires and veers into my lane and sends me over the river and through the woods into a lake? I choose not to live in fear.

Well you are welcome to that opinion, as I am welcome to the opinion that anytime I am not responsible for my safety its a bad thing.

The TSA needs to be done away with, and it needs to justify its existence in a big way. Lot of complaints, few attaboys (if any).

That would imply some form of accountability. The TSA is part of the Feds, we can't imply that the mighty Feds should have to answer to anybody, can we? Oh the anarchy!

I'll put one in each of my bags that complies and have a copy of their rules. I can't wait for this!
