ALL public officials should be required to pass a background check AND be subject to random drug tests . . . otherwise, what is the point of background checks and drug tests? Everyone from Wal*Mart to RTD is subject to mandatory testing, so why should those elected officials empowered and entrusted to change the law of the land be treated any different? After all, they are allegedly "public servants" who work for the people, right?
