I just got off the phone with John. He is headed home to read up on the bills and all kinds of feedback on them for tomorrow's session, so email your input.

He's leaning on a yes vote for:

    SB 195--Online CCW training
SB 197--No firearms for domestic violence offenders
HB 1228 Background fees (Poll Tax)
HB 1229 Universal Background Checks - he didn't understand the transfer portion of this bill, and was concerned that it discriminated against gay couples. I told him this amendment really needs to go. His answer to the sheriffs claiming it was unenforceable was that the police chiefs and CBI wanted it. Hell, I'd want it too if I ran CBI. In the business world, that's called empire building.

I'd say based on our short conversation he's leaning for this one, too:

HB 1224--Limiting the size of magazines - he keeps repeating the party line of how the Gifford shooter was tackled. I pointed out that six year olds can't tackle, and none of the grown men in VT tackled anyone.

Didn't get a chance to discuss this one:

    SB 196--Assault Weapons Responsibility

May be influenceable on this one, as he's award of the Denver Post poll.

HB 1226 Prohibiting Concealed Carry on college campus.
