New Security at the TANNER show... they all look like DoD security contractors!
You get stopped and screened at the dealer entrance.
I was in the line that ran out of badges and the delay there led to a 45 minute wait for a hand cart to bring in our goods.
I saw what was happening and walked out .. wife dragged me back in .. I was really hoping to get to the Air Show in Colorado Springs this weekend.
So, some stuff (on my side of the tables) will be priced to really move, don't hesitate to make an offer!

Was in C-Springs with the folks today. Mainly over cast. Didn't hear the Thunderbird flying over. Was wondering if they were grounded.

A friend sent me a news update, the low cloud cover caused the Thunderbirds to be cancelled.
Lots of people at the TANNER show.
I was told a guy walked in with an awesome selection of WWII German pistols to sell.
I want to go around again on Sunday as I saw some things today that deserve a second look.
Driving home from Denver in pouring rain was no fun!
Richard
Went yesterday, got a homey hookup to get in for free lol. Picked up 200 rounds of Winchester .45acp for $60, only purchase. Saw a few things I liked but not enough to drop the serious amount of coin required. Good sized crowd but still easy enough to move around.
been itching to buy some more stuff so went in. saw 2 interesting items but left empty handed - a 5" smith in 460 for 800 and a mitchel arms luger for 850

I too saw that stainless steel Mitchell Arms 9MM Luger.
There was also a S&W 629 with 6 inch bbl, in the box for $700
Both were tempting buys, but I decided to save my cash for the Knob Creek show and shoot.

I went on Sunday and looked around. The price increased to $10 a person and the lady ignored my military ID and didn't give me a military discount. While that isn't a big deal to me, they used to knock the price down a $1 with it.
I ended up buying some nylon gun cases and as I was walking out, the security guard tried to detain me as he wanted to know if the cases I carried had firearms in them. They didn't, but it took me by surprise as I was unaware I needed to let anyone know when I WAS LEAVING that I had a firearm in a case. I told him no, but he felt the need to squeeze the cases to ensure I was telling the truth. I didn't see any signage as I stood there in the entry/exit requiring me to report any firearms leaving the premises, only those entering.
It did seem as though they had more vendors than the last time I went as they moved the food vendor out of the hall and the tables along the exterior walls were all filled.

The new security once again interfered with access for some pointless announcement.
At least this time they didn't cost me a 45 minute delay in set-up!

UGH... the next TANNER show is this weekend.
I will be set up and working there.
I can't ever seem to get a weekend off!
I didn't see it in the news, but at the last TANNER show (weekend before last) the new security people had an "incident" out side the show at night.
The guard had to deal with three "perps" and managed to put one of them under the ground.

Oh fawk, I think that was the LAST time I went to a Tanner show! I'm betting it was, I'm sure there was some kind of Christmas BS going on. Yeah, parking was hell.
Even when I used to go to the Tanner shows somewhat regularly I would skip the one during the Christmas show. Seems they have a show every year that overlaps that Christmas show and that whole Merchandise Mart area is one big cluster f**k.
I might venture down. Wife is going to Christmas thing.

gun shows for me are more about the socializing and bsing, lotsa low info gun owners seem to show up, so that what makes prices silly at these types of things.... and some, not all, are only selling at show for that reason, as their storefront doesnt attract enough traffic to support their biz. so these complaints about, same stuff since 1981 are silly, as im not going to find a good "deal", if i do happen to find one, thats just bonus....but nowadays, what im into doesnt really show up at shows...

Its all the extraneous useless crap, scented candles, essential oils, jewelry, etc. that caused the increase in tables at the last one. I just figured the ownership of the show needed to finish out the year with a little more cash from selling tables. For the increased size it was the exact same amount of actual gun related content.
Is anyone planning to attend the TANNER show on this up coming New Years weekend?

I haven’t been in a few years, but to me, Tanner means two things: Beanie Babies and jerky! (Insert sarcastic emoji) That said, I think I may go since my Garand could use a reasonably priced bayonet and maybe an ammo belt for the clips.

Today I had the pleasure of meeting several forum members!
We sold a few bayonets for the M1 rifle and 1903 Springfield.
I found a ROMAK 1 that I could not pass up!
I missed a real good M1938 Carcano and Czech 1924 Mauser.
This has been one of the better TANNER shows I have attended lately.
We have restock going back on Sunday to replace some of what we have sold.

Well, the wife has some stuff she wanted to do with friends today so against my better judgment I headed to the show. Mostly just to get out of the house.
If anyone else is going to be here when they open I’d be happy to buy you a cup of coffee.

Agree yesterday was the best I've seen in a while. Not just lots of traffic, but they were buying. And there were quite a few open tables at the start of the show. I noticed 6 on the south side, but then ended up filling some of them with t-shirt and other non-gun vendors. Definitely less gun-related tables.

Tanner gun show this weekend!
Plan on going Saturday afternoon, might bring along my Baer UTC if the guy looking at it Friday passes. Haven’t been to the last couple.
So, I've been to a few Tanner's over the years and I think I may be missing something. I love being able to look a ton of different firearms, check some things out in person but they most always carry an extensive price tag. First one that I went to I was looking for a spam can, found a great price on it. Second time around, four times the price and only two of them at the show. It seems though no matter with all the zapping going on and some curmudgeon types manning stuff that even the Army Surplus basement would reject, I still have a draw to go. I was kind of curious for those of you that do go, what is it you're hoping to find? Any good tips on managing the experience effectively? Just might go this weekend, depends on how it all goes.
Wear good shoes, take cash, rub Vick's Vaporub under your nose so the smell from all those that don't take baths/showers won't overpower you (only half joking), the food generally sucks so eat before you go or pick up some snacks from the Mountain Man table, try to look past all the non-gun crap, make a few rounds. If you see something you really like at a price you can handle get it, otherwise most of the time someone else will.
Most of the stuff is new and everything you can get online or at a local shop for better prices. I like S&W revolvers so anything made pre-mim and pre-lock gets my interest and sometimes, with cash in hand, I've gotten some good/fair deals. It all depends on what you like.
There may be a more subdued feel to this one with the death of the Adams County Deputy-in addition to the private security it's not uncommon for deputies to be there as well.
The big motorcycle show/swap meet is going on this weekend so it might lessen the crowds at the gun show. Maybe.
Doc, I had been long looking at getting my first revolver and I've settled on wanting to look at the 686. So two quick questions, would the older be better in it's case, and what would I look for as far as finding an age range of the gun?
I'm definitely of the "older is better" club. I have a no dash 4" 686 my late father bought new in Sept. of 1981 (box, all papers, even his original receipt), used it to teach both my sons how to shoot a handgun. It's generally felt the -4 is the pinnacle of the 686 guns but I'd be happy with any of the no dash up to the -4 engineering change. The model number is inside the yoke section of the frame when you open the cylinder if you didn't know. I'd expect to pay around $750+ for a nice example depending if it has the box, documents and tools. You can look at the completed auctions on Gunbroker to see what they've actually sold for but it can also depend on the section of the country.
I appreciate the knowledge shared, greatly. I'll keep my eyes open
Went today, have an old friend-retired leo-that usually has a few nice items and enjoy catching up with. Met a very decent gentleman that ended up buying my Les Baer. Got to meet Teufel and wander around a bit more. Only saw one gun that I was semi-interested in (S&W 629) but not enough to make an offer.
Outside of that it was all the same old stuff. I guess not much buying was going on as the background check for my buyer only took about 5 minutes-that was just before 12:30p.

I'm tired, its late and I dont get the joke or the reference. The show floor is a square it has four sides that can be referenced by cardinal directions. as in North West corner..... I could have said walk in door turn left but most have a sense of direction. Presumably those that attend or work the show with some degree of regularity know who I am referencing. You are not lying though to say much of the show is non firearm related these days.

OK so a night of sleep and re evaluating the response I quoted last night, the reference must be to whatever and whoever replaced his vendor table and what they are selling..... Up to speed now carry on.

I got a smokin deal on a nice set of JBL tower speakers there (right at the shop) years ago when I was collecting vintage stereo stuff... They were advertising items on CL.
I went this morning. Nice to see ammo at almost reasonable prices again. Some vendors seem to think it's January 2013, based on their gun prices, others are pretty much in line with what I'd expect. Pleased to not that ALL conversation stopped for the singing of the National Anthem. Nobody took a knee.
Was talking to my friend who has a table there. 4 guns walked out yesterday. Probably more today given how lax some of these dealers put hand guns out. Very easy to pocket an unchained pistol and walk out the door.

TFOGGER, after now being aware of the thefts on Saturday that makes a lot of sense that a deputy would've been added. I spoke to a friend who took the time to try and engage the 2 protesters in a "civil discourse" on the topic of their protests.
He had walked all the way up to the corner from the show, approached them politely, introduced himself and asked them to explain their position on the topic.
The answer was a screamed series of profanity laden sentences.
He actually had expected this and so just continued to respond calmly and finally gave up once it was clear that all these 2 wanted was to provoke a response.
I was surprised that the 2 didn't make the local news!

I spent more money there on Saturday than I've spent there in multiple years combined. got a good price on a 6.5 Creedmoor barrel, a nice, but not too expensive knife for my kit, some great magnets to hold my firearms in my car and other goodies. Very happy I took a new guy in our office to it.

Looks like Gloria and I will be driving to Denver this Friday to set up for this next TANNER gun show.
If you need anything delivered from APEX , I suggest that you call my customer service and get that order placed before Friday!
Richard
If I’m up to it I plan to go, will stop by and say hi. Looking for some 45acp ammo and will try to buy back a Uberti SAA I sold to a guy last year-really miss it, he had it at the last show with no interest. I got a fair price when he bought it, I’ll see how generous he’s feeling ng LOL.
Went today, didn't see any really nice deals, just more of the same stuff I saw last show.

I saw more guns at this show than I have seen at a TANNER show in a while.
My table neighbor bought a very straight Japanese type 99 with monopod and bayonet.
I visited with a lot of our regular customers, and a few people I haven't seen in a while.
I wonder what will walk thru the doors on Sunday?

Just got back. Could not believe how slow it was. Hoping to walk out with something cool, but nothing peaked my interest.
Damn, wanted to go but still recovering from my little hospital visit, get tired pretty easily. Still need to find a good deal on .45acp ammo, don't like having ordered stuff sitting on the front porch if I miss the delivery.

Yeah, Sunday was pretty slow. A buddy and I went and he got low balled several times for a rifle he was looking to sell.
when people go to tanner to sell stuff, are you looking to sell to vendors or hoping to get stopped by people at the show?
Also, whats the proper protocol if you see someone showing something to a vendor? i know you shouldnt interrupt them, but if you tell him you might be interested, he probably wont take the wholesale price the dealer is offering.

We went around to the vendors who had signs indicating they bought firearms as well as asking opinions of the vendors who were selling the type of firearm he was looking to sell. It was a unique Austrian made bolt action.
As for your interest, it would be my opinion to wait until the two parties concluded their discussion and then contact the seller to indicate your interest. Just my opinion though.

I hope to get stopped by people. Every time a vendor asks what I'm selling, and for how much, they say "I can't make a profit off that."
"B*tch, I don't care if you can make a profit or not, I'm looking out for myself!" I think but don't say.

Hell yeah. I stopped showing anything I bring to vendors. I'll be there with something at a fair used market price (lets say a glock 19 at $400).
"Can I see that?"
"Sure, if you'll pay $400 for it, I'm selling it at a fair price, but not enough for you to make much profit on it"
"yeah that's fine, let me check it out. Hmmm, my gun price bible (because I'm still using a several year old paperback in 2018) says I can't do that. would you take $200 for it?"
Every. Fucking. Time. I try not to be rude as I'd like to maintain the relationships, but man so many of these guys have the same stuff on the table for years and I totally understand why. In the end I still spend my $10 so I'm the sucker, but every now and then I find something really cool.
Yeah, many of these guys seem to try to make back the table price on a single sale, so they sell nothing.
what brought up my question was a couple shows back, i saw a guy with a bunch of older colts and boxes talking with someone at the table, i think the dealer saw me standing by and on purposely started bullshitting with the guy - after about 5 minutes i left, thinking id catch the guy later. never did. But yes, i dont know why they waste time asking to see something when everyone knows they wont come close on price to. wearing signs might look stupid, but i think that the only way to get market value at a show.......

Last year I had Les Baer and Springfield 1911s with me to sell. This is exactly how the Baer sold-a vendor looked it over, passed and a gentleman standing off to the side approached me as I walked away. My asking price had some wiggle room and we made a deal. Another vendor ended up taking the Springfield at a price I could live with. I always hang a sign around my neck with details if I’m trying to sell at the show.

I will be there Sunday morning.
Staying up in Denver for the weekend, also a friend of mine will have some tables there. GT Products LLC.
Might have to swing by. Need to pick up a couple of things from the Scentsy booth.
It's $12 now, and saw a few people mumbling and turning away due to the extra $2. Sheeeeyit I wish $2 was my worst financial choice at the gun show [ROFL2]
There's also a table with a new Ruger PC for $485 that I had real trouble turning down.

You'll like the 9mm PCC takedown. I run mine suppressed, which based on the design (well thought out) was set up to run that way w/out any needed modifications.

Actually, that might be a good thing. I am amazed when I set up at a show to sell some of my collection, and people looking at my treasures, say things like:
1. You take credit cards? (Well, okay, I did get a Square Reader that keeps the money about 2 weeks in case the buyer wants to back out, and then you have to provide an invoice)
2. I didn't bring any money with me. (What? I can't even respond to that - I guess they were headed to the museum)
3. I gotta sell my wall-hanger rifle that I found in the field first.
4. You have a business card and I will call you? (Well, here is my card, but this isn't the way I make a living)
5. You don't have to do a background check do you? (No, I don't, but the Dealer at the front is going to have to at your expense if you want this)
6. What is your best out the door price? (Whatever number I say, that leads to the start of a negotiation)
7. And, then after all that the response is, "Well, I just got here and need to look around, I'll be back."
Yep, love them "be-backs" with no money and all day to practice bargaining.
[blaster]
I'm not saying I cant swing 12 bucks. But it is a bit much for a chance to buy something at a higher than normal price. Especially now that I have discovered the ultraweb. It's been three years since I bought anything big at the gun show. It was a impulse, novelty gun from a private seller. Mostly bought it because it because I got along with the guy. I can't argue that the market wont pay 12 bucks. It has been more popular than ever.
I think I'm averaging a gun every three shows or so. Today except for that PC and a weird retro bushy build that only fixed handle fetishists like me would appreciate I can't say I saw anything that I would consider a deal, whether on things I was interested in or not. I was hoping to find an ok to good deal on a 9mm P239 or M1 Carbine but alas it wasn't to be. Did get a pair of skinny handguards really cheap so it wasn't a total waste, and every now and then I get a deal like a $300 P07 or somesuch that makes up for the less stellar trips.
$12 vs. $10 and walking away, gun people are cheap, very cheap.
Haven't had much luck at the shows recently. I'll wait and see if they get better before returning.
Picked up an ace conversion kit in the box - before I realized how much mags for it are

Gun seller next to my booth is selling out and plans to give up the FFL after the inventory is all gone.
Sold 1 gun at cost and 4 at a loss. He has mostly AR's, but did sell a Gen4 Glock today.
Foot traffic was down today, our sales were not what we were hoping for!
Did turn a friend onto a semi-auto UZI receiver that I saw on another friends table.
Gent near me had a few barreled kits, and a good selection of FAL, L1A1 and barrels.

Are down for splitting the cost of buying our own hand stamp? We could stamp peoples hands in the parking lot for $5.
Sure its easy to copy the emblem. Its not like the staff really check the details when going back in. Down side would be you couldn't use it right at 9am as that might raise suspension.

Well, the Denver Post had a review of the show:
https://www.denverpost.com/2018/09/22/tanner-gun-show-denver-vendors/
76177
The reporter, Sam Tabachnick, seemed turned off by the firearms part of the show, and was happily impressed with the sales of succulents, scents, and spices.
I hope he paid his $12 and wasn't a guest of the show.
One of the comments after the article that set the tone for me:
"As guns become more and more passe, maybe their proponents are coming to feel their sensitive and feminine side."
And if you decide to waste $12 going to a crappy indoor flea market, which is what the Tanner Gun Show has deteriorated into, make sure to get your money's worth by stopping by and visiting 'Dan, the AK Man' at his table for some lively conversation. He doesn't have fruity candles or spices or 'succulents', but you may be able to pick up a variety of Asian, Russian, or Eastern European banana clips.
Hahaha
I first stopped to chat with Dan back in probably 2012. I thought he was just hyping things up for business, but holy shit, the more I listened to him, the more certain I was he believed what he said.

He certainly didn't have an exclusive on character. Very eclectic bunch that were regulars there. Working the show was always a hoot.

I hadn't been to Tanner in a long time - year or more.
I was concerned that it would be a flea market type show with no guns and knives.
Pleasant surprise. I saw a number of firearms, knives, and accessories.
Yes, there were other types of vendors, but not the number I was dreading.
Spent some money, talked with a number of people - watched a gentleman buy a Gold Plated Desert Eagle with Gold Plated Magazines, and found a couple of C&R M1 Carbines that I might have to go back and buy.
Too nice a day to be inside, but I did go to the car a few times.

The only parts kit I have been bringing to the TANNER show is a STEN MK5.
The show inventory is NOT the same as on the web site, with a few exceptions.

We can refer to the whole concept of you just being another face in the crowd and they have no idea who you are or your intentions. So in the current environment of more public violence and increased tensions between gun/no gun communities, I'd suggest that you have an equal responsibility to announce your presence and intentions to set some expectations before you just stroll up to the counter and start going akimbo. If I've made inferences into how the situation played out, then some more contextual explanations may be necessary.

To each his own. Any time I have needed to bring a pistol to a gun store (sale, transfer, etc.), I bring it in a case, no ammo in pistol or mags, slide locked back, or a chamber flag inserted. I've never "drawn" a pistol in any circumstance other than training or to put the pistol away for the night (fortunately haven't needed to draw for serious circumstances). I have also never been yelled at, so I must be doing something right. BTW I never said anything about "ventilating" anyone.

words mean stuff..
i dont think i was intending to imply i was jumpy or whatever, i was going off the reactions from the crack ninja security team. what i was trying to put across, was folks who are so proud/arrogant/authoritative etc with their positions torque me off. and so, the universe usually has a way of putting those types of personalities together. be it range masters, cops, folks at the drive through, whatever. i believe that more kabooms dont happen at gun shows in spite of the security, not because of it... ive been ot many gunshows, in many states, and never been treated the way i was at this one.... and usually, i have an armfulf of guns, not just 2.
so, when i said "i drew" it means, i said, and i have this one, and pulled it from the holster, which was in view behind me, with mag dropped, but not slide locked, i didnt expect any shennigans, which i suppose im guilty of being under-prepared, as folks sure are unpredictable, so if im gonna get shot at, i better be ready-er to return fire.... holy balls
but what i am guilty of is not typing and communicating my thoughts effectively via the keyboard... so for that, i apologize....

There was a guy there with an interesting pile of grips and a couple of guys with good prices on Sig M11a1s (700 or so), but beyond that this one seemed particularly slow and crummy. Talked with one of the original partners of the Tulsa Arms Show. He does a few in TX and NM still. He told me that of the 3 shows in NM, the best is when they bring in a Ammo company that brings 5 semi-truckloads of ammo. He told me that was the one to see.

Spent just under 2 hours there this morning. Easy to walk the aisles and see the wares on the tables. Spotted a few nice older S&Ws though only one was priced what I thought was a fair price. Gun rich and cash poor so I walked out without taking anything home. Met a guy there that wanted to check out my FN AR 15 pistol but he didn't take it-threw me a low ball offer that I had to turn down-oh well. Saw a lot of the same stuff that's been at shows the past 6 months +.
Went this morning as well. It was cold outside and I hadn?t been to a show in a while. Showed up at 9 when they opened, looked at every table with gun stuff twice, talked briefly to the guy from Shooter Ready about his laser machine, was out by a little after 10.
Bought a Gerber Command II, Mark I, and an Emerson Karambit folder. I enjoyed wandering around, almost bought a Sig M11 no-rail, maybe next show I'll make a good offer.

Roberth, was the Gerber Commander in a brown scabbard? I was that close *fingers pinched* to buying one on Sunday. Ended up instead with a 6.5 Creedmore barrel for a AR10, several older pistol mags, some ammo. Is the C.Springs show much different?
Yes, the Gerber Command I is in a Camillus leather belt scabbard, the gentleman has tons of knives. I'm wondering about getting something different to carry it in.
Sounds like you did well too.
I haven't been to a C. Springs show.

There is a TANNER show in Colorado Springs this coming weekend.
It will be held in the Norris Penrose event center.
This will be my first time at this particular show.
I spent last weekend at the SAR show in Phoenix.

The leather guy (westernimagesleather.com) I like will be there, so I was planning on going. When did the entry fee go to $12 for the Tanner show? Ouch!
Any reports on the show. I had unexpected company and couldn't go.
Mostly dealers or any individuals trying to sell?

I went Sunday, small for a show if you are used to the Denver shows. Dan The AK Man was there!! He talks constantly. I personally did not find anything that caught my eye. Buddy of mine who own the GT Products table said he sold 7 AR?s and did well. I never turn down a show if it comes to the Springs. Hell even this show would have made my nephew in CA loose his mind!!!

I once went down that road, you owe it to yourself to find a legit GI carbine, though I'd haunt gunbroker unless you get lucky pricewise at tanner.

Solid advice but I took his post to mean he was looking for some universal honey.

A couple of TANNER shows ago the Hickman Rifles tables had 2 decent USGI M1 carbines for under $1K.
I will be setting up at TANNER on Friday.
I am hoping the weather isn't an issue!

Oh, that must be...the guy with all kinds of mags in the northwest corner? Beat up G3 mags $50-80, HK93 40rd mags $200, rusty CETME mags $60, Magpuls $30, used G.I. Beretta M92 mags $50-70. While he may be the only on in the show with other than AR15/M16 mags, he's thieving at those prices. A sad show overall; too many junk venders, non-firearm venders, no Carbine parts to be found, nothing 'new' really. Even my honey girl was missing.
He had a set of A1 triangle handguards in great shape that I asked about, but he wanted $200 for em. I set them back down on the shelf.
I probably overpaid for an airlite 317 but I did see a pair of k frame combat grips for 100$ that seemed reasonable
I bought 250 rounds of 55gr FMJ from Ten-X for $72. Did a lap around, saw a couple things that interested me, but I can't go spending money right now.
Bought a 3032 dirt cheap from a random dude trying to get a dealer to buy it. The price he wanted, but wasn't getting from the dealers, was super low. I'd almost be scared to ask what offers he was getting.

That stuff has gotten some pretty horrid reviews. They were absent for many of the shows I worked last year or so.
I seem to recall someone here had some squibs?

Yep, NW corner of the show. $275 for a 30 round bakelite mag.. standard AR mags were $50.. complete ripoff.
I have no idea how they find it worth it to get there every show.
Though I guess I could say the same of half the sellers there of old milsurp at 50%-100% over market prices.

There are a couple of tables taking advantage of the fact that e-commerce sites won't ship magazines over 15 round capacity to Colorado.
I had a walk around and bought an interesting rifle that hasn't been imported since about 1989, price was more than fair!
The gun dealer next to me had his "going out of business" sale (really!) and sold off all but one firearm for a considerable loss.
The majority of what he had were AR-15's.
He already told the show promoter that he was giving up the tables.

Well that is just insane. I saw way better prices on mags last time I was there (November or October), but didn't check prices on Bakelite AK stuff. ARs are better anyway [Coffee]
Was it just one table with insane prices?
What's with the guy selling Bakelite AK mags for $275!?
Native American looking dude (can't recall his name) with the old lady in a wheelchair?
He always has a bunch of beat up old milsurp optics for stupid prices in addition to the mags. I have picked up a few from him over the years when they were priced right or he was willing to negotiate, mostly common Sig mags. For I can't remember how long, he had ONE single P229 aluminum grip and I always asked for the other or a pair and he could never round them up.

Were you around when Michael Meienberg had an FFL?
He sold some interesting guns over the years.
Too bad he didn't abide by the Federal and state laws!
Just GOOGLE the name.
After that it was "Grizzly Mike" and the wife and kids settled into selling magazines and accessories.
Eventually Mike violated his parole and the family/business imploded.
Now I see him at the local flea market with his son selling tools and stuff.

Years ago, he had a bunch of plain clothes folks shut down his table and examine everything he had.
Rumor going around the show was that he had 2 optics systems that were still classified by the military and they were FBI or ATF agents.
Never heard anymore follow-up.

The TANNER Gun Show used to be a regular stop for some large national vendors that carried a LOT of magazines.
After the magazine capacity law was thrust onto us those big vendors stopped doing Colorado shows.
I miss the variety of items those vendors brought to sell.

The gent you describe is Eldon from Leasures Treasures.
I noticed that his tables seem to "float" now from one spot to another.
He also now only is selling "antique" or black powder guns as well as knives, swords, badges, coins, etc.

You are correct Richard. I was holding back on his identifying info until I found out if that was who brutal was talking about.
Quick side story. I did one gun show a year (in my home town) from 2010 - 2016, when they stopped having it. It was a decent small town show, $25 tables and my parents still live there. My dad enjoyed working the tables with me, and I got to see a lot of folks from my earlier years over the course of the shows. In 2010 (my first time "behind" the tables) Eldon and his wife set up at the same show. I had amassed a sizable cache of ammo prior to the show just before things really started to go south. Much to my surprise, about mid-day Saturday Eldon stopped by my single table and inquired about my set-up, inventory, pricing, etc. He ended up writing me a check for around $900 and put a nice dent in my table. A nice guy that was a pleasure to deal with, and I must say I do believe that that firmly convinced me that I wold go back the next year and do 2 tables.
Kind of rambling on, but that's my gun show story as it relates to Eldon.

Sold a bunch of AR's, lots of lowers, and a few handguns...
Based on the number of background check's going it wasn't a busy show...but like I said...good show for me.

The show is at the Boulder County Fairgrounds in Longmont.
However, I did attend many shows at the old National Guard Armory in North Boulder and even one or two in the Fairview High School gym in the late 80's and early 90's.

meh...I would do a Tanner. The smaller ones are ok but you'll get a chance to see the full gamut of gun show asshattery. From hearing the fricking taser every 5 seconds to the CBD lotion booth handing out free samples...oh, almost forgot the booth selling curling irons...
But there's some good or decent deals to be had. You just gotta sift through some garbage and keep your eyes open!

Aw, come on now, it’s been at least a year since they had one. They are doing pretty good in that Dept. But the raising of the entry fee and table prices is what is going to kill them. You can only charge so much before people quit paying for the privilege of buying overpriced merchandise.
