Went this morning, first gunshow I've been to in a long time. Underwhelmed, all the same stuff you can find in your friendly neighborhood or internet gun store. I did meet a guy there to buy my Sig M17 so at least I walked out with more money than I went in with LOL. Ran in to a couple of guys hadn't seen in a long time but after 90 minutes I was done.

Unfortunately, the era of the table filled with $175 Model 10's and $200 new in wrapper Lee-Enfields has passed.

Really sorry I missed the Collectors show in the Springs this year. That's more my kind of show. For new stuff I'd rather give my hard earned money to (in no particular order) members here or a few local shops.

Did anyone attend the TANNER gun show at the Norris-Penrose event center Oct 21-23?
We were set up on an island at the west end of the building.
No empty tables, but it felt like the show was not well attended.
Perhaps people just didn't find our spot?

I went Friday, but got busy and didn't make it back a second time. Saw some neat stuff, spoke with a few people I knew and a few I didn't. I had a good time.

There is a TANNER Gun Show starting Friday afternoon at the NORRIS-PENROSE event center here in Colorado Springs.
Gloria and I will be setting up in the morning.
We should be in the same spot as last time.
I am bringing out some surplus ammo and some antique Mausers, etc. that haven't been offered before.

I came; I paid, I walked around...I did look for Apex; but I guess I was out of luck.

I was looking for one or two things and struck out; but that is normal. Mostly was looking for some FDE parts like maybe a buffer tube. Some
heavy weight factory ammo in 300 blackout would have been nice. Ok; there was factory ammo, but not from a factory I ever heard of.

If I wanted to find an AR-15 in some color combo that would overload night vision gear with a new moon out...yea; they had that.

I found some things I wanted at a great price.
However, some of the best deals at the TANNER show came by my table after being purchased from someone else's tables.
I should have spent more time looking!

Would a 3 day wait kill gun shows?Gun show vendor prices and admission prices killed gun shows a LONG time ago.

Today, lack of sufficient parking killed the show for me. I looped the Crowne for 30 minutes before quitting. To answrr Eric: I suspect 3day waits will kill most shows unless the dealer is really local or you don't mind a lot of driving. I suspect thoses that only do NICS will be screwed because where will they store the guns dutring the process? Ex: you pay the dealer, he goes to the NICS'ers, hands them the gun you already paid for, they have to hold it..Fri, Sat Sun, ('if' you buy on Fri!). If the dealer does their own BGCs, the wait time still applies. If the dealer is local, now you have to travel to the dealer to get your gun. If not local, they have to send it to a local ffl for transfer (=$$$). Those are my thoughts. Hope I'm wrong.

Yes, the 3 day wait is not intended to stop anyone from actually killing themselves or commiting a crime if that is what you are asking.

Tanner show this week-end, April 21-23.
Did anyone go?
The weather wasn't the best, but maybe that keeps people from doing spring activities?
I am thinking of going to the one at Crowne Plaza, May 5.
I would like to sell a 1919a4 semi auto, but not sure of the best venue.

Well, that was a very busy TANNER show for us!
I did get to walk around and find good prices on guns I already own, so no purchases for me!
Well, I did buy some ammo from a friend.
Surprised that most everyone seems unaware of the changes already made to Federal and Colorado law regarding braces, and polymer 80 stuff, plus the no sales to people under 21 and mandatory 3 day delay for transfers that starts in October.

OH, and please don't ever stand at a table across the way and aim a firearm at me thru its optic, then track my movements as I try to move out of the line of fire!
And my fellow dealers, WATCH what your customers are doing with the guns on your table!

Sounds like gun safety training is lacking for some of the show attendees.
At the last show in Tulsa, I was clearing a lever action .22 that I was about to shoulder, and the magazine was full.
The vendor lived in the area and said he had just grabbed it out of the safe that morning.
I did buy the rifle, but the whole incident put me on edge the rest of the day.

At this TANNER show I saw two vendors examining two semi-auto hunting rifles that the one gent had brought in for a trade.
Turned out they both had loaded magazines in them.
Because the guy bringing them in was a badged vendor the security people had not cleared those guns.
Lucky they checked before putting them on the table!

How will that be enforced?
What will be the procedure once the BGC clears, if it takes 10 minutes for an approval who do they report to to start the clock?
Another well laid out plan.
Does it have to do with the payment?

Already anyone under 21 years of age buying a firearm gets a 3 day delay on approval from CBI.
After 1 October all CBI checks will be an automatic 3 day delay on the approval and anyone under 21 need not apply.

So what they are trying to prevent will be encouraged through over regulation... black market parking lot deals. No check, no wait.

Happens to every market with excessive regulation

Went yesterday, sold a gun, ammo prices were stupid for the most part though I did get some Federal 45acp fmj at a fair price, checked out some nice older S&W revolvers-didn’t buy, didn’t taste any jerky and there was incredibly beautiful and friendly woman working at the background check table lol. Not a horrible way to spend a couple hours out of the heat.

I drove down on Sunday from Aurora: I was looking for an older Winchester 70 in .243 but none there. Came close to adopting a CZ75B, or a sporter 1903. Guess I'm getting picky in my age. I like ARs, just not the Barbie doll dress-ups: give me old school retros.

I wonder how this will turn out. A new hassle with multiple trips to pick up a purchase. I could see local sellers in the shoes area not being effected to much.

Sunday the 2 new laws kick in, mandatory 3 day "cooling off" on any purchase of modern arms, even between Colorado citizens, and the removal of the legal protections against frivolous lawsuits against firearms manufacturers and retailers.

I saw that local shops were taking the firearms for local buyers for the wait. I’m sure there is some type of fee involved.
I’m sure it less expensive then gas to go up back to Denver or elsewhere.

I didn't see too much in the way of guns coming in to be sold.
Typical summer show on Saturday, I hope sales pick up for Sunday!
