Guess I?ll do the paperwork for my new toy on Friday and just plan on going back the following Friday to pick it up.
I wasn?t planning on buying anything until this nonsense was over but found a deal I couldn?t pass up.

Might consider going tomorrow early and not waiting until Friday. Executive Order on guns expected tomorrow. That's going to increase BG checks no matter what it says.
Centennial told me 2 - 3 days when I went to do the paperwork on my new Shield Plus last night. So we'll see.

I considered trying to run by today. I probably could swing by tomorrow. Just figured that whenever I went by it would still likely be next Friday before I could get back to pick it up anyways.
Well, according to the FFL that I just filled out my 4473 the wait is now at 5+ days.
Of course there was an employee there all decked out in military style gear who was trying to sell someone an AR pistol with a brace and was constantly referring to it as a rifle so who knows if they?re right about the 5+ days.

Haven't shot it yet, but seems nice. Eager to see how it performs (I've carried a Shield for several years).
I'd be curious to hear what you think - assuming it has the same feel and grip? I moved away from the Shield (and G43) when the P365 came out (after the first generation). But I love my S&W's!

Was going to do a trade with a guy from Parker but he wouldn’t meet me halfway so no deal. It is not worth it for the gas I would spend to make two 150+ miles round trip to complete the deal.

They do (did?) run background checks on the weekends. In days past I?ve bought firearms on a Sunday and left with them that same day.

I wanted the TXG grip, but I cheap'ed out and got the black X5 grip. Black one is not a "W" weighted. Still heavy, but not as heavy as TXG (gray x5 legion)
I build 4.7" X5 clone (minus bull barrel, with the black X5 grip), but I do need another FCU right now. FCU being $350+, it is just better to just buy a X5 Legion at $899.99 and part out the 4.7. lol

My youngest bought his first firearm on Thursday evening. The retailer told him 1-2 weeks for the BGC to be back. When he and I went and got his 22 rifle (ten-ish years ago) it was 15 minutes or less. And they call this progress?

It seems to be increasing despite the heavy sales over the last 14 months, almost as if everyone is getting the same feelings about this administration, the nation, and the world. Liberal mayors allowing ANTIFA and BLM to do their dirty work, defunding local law enforcement, using every "ism" there is to promote their agenda, right in the middle of the most political pandemic in the history of mankind. Endless wars, Russian troops preparing to invade the Ukraine, Chinese and Indian forces clashing, a continued Jihad against the west, etc.
We live in a society that has access to more information than ever in history, yet we have the the most confusion, least amount of critical thinking, and the most hatred we've seen in awhile, maybe even ever. Nations hating nations, races hating races, all the while, those intent on fundamental change (for power) continue to their march forward, and climate change is their biggest threat?
Why are the troops still deployed in DC? Why is there no massive outcry to stop ANTIFA or BLM? Why is there real political actions to defund law enforcement? We all know why - and I'm betting most American's are seeing that same thing and deciding it's time to buy and be ready.
Or maybe I've watched way too many apocalyptic movies.... Come to think of it, Hollywood has been forecasting this for decades LOL!

Submitted the 23rd, still waiting. Stopped at a different shop at 1pm today: '5 days'. Was thinking of going to the show in C.Springs but might be pointless. Update: picked mine up on the 5th. While waiting, found another shotty I'd like, but kinda gun-shy about long bgc.
So, we submitted on wed 4/21, and we haven't heard back even on 28th (week later). I called the store and they have no idea where our background check is at. They believe they misplaced it, and running it again. They said we will get a FREE box of ammo.
I am hoping to get a box of Hornady 338 lapua magnum [hahhah-no]

I thought there was a legal limit to how long they could sit on these? Why even legislate a five day waiting period when they have just a fact I’ll put one in?

Without a limit, what is the barrier to the governor just saying that they’re not doing any more background checks for some spurious reason. Call gun violence a health hazard and have the The health department say that it’s a pandemic of violence and no more guns for you? Or literally just make it take weeks and weeks.

They initially wanted to give me critical defense, but it all ran out. So, they gave me a cheap aluminum cci 9mm ammo which was only 9mm there.

After two and a half weeks, my son found out the the CBI "lost" his paperwork. Scheels won't release the firearm until it clears.

Is he sure CBI lost it or did the Scheels employee forget to submit it or miss it once it came back. Once completed or accepted by the ffl (I forget which) the result is accessible for only 2 or 3 days. If the ffl fails to print it out, they will have to resubmit.

Not doubting what you are saying, but in 3 years I have never seen this happen while at a large volume retailer. Anything is possible. I have just never seen it.

We print out our queue and check daily. One day a customer will be mid way on the queue, next day they vanish. I've seen people go from in queue to in process and back to in queue.

CBI BGC was at ~12 minutes on Friday at 4pm. Hopefully they can stay on top of it.

I'm still in the honeymoon stage of being able to do FTF with no FFL, so I haven't purchased from an FFL.

Not accurate, it does not matter if you have a carry permit in Ohio, just a correct drivers license

Let me clarify, you don?t have to wait for them to call and get a blessing over the phone before you can leave with your purchase when you have a carry permit.
North Carolina was also this way if you had a carry permit. Unfortunately in North Carolina if you didn?t have a carry permit you had to go to your local sheriff and get a pistol purchase permit each time you wanted to buy a handgun. The legislature tried to undo the Jim Crow holdover law this year but the Dem governor vetoed it.
