Don't ship perfectly good mags to her. They'd just be thrown away or destroyed. Better still to send her the empty packaging. Imagine thousands of empty MAGPUL wrappers filling her office.

I like that idea. Better be careful though, Denver PD will some how turn that into some sort of harrassment.

Let's get Magpul to print a note "This wrapper was delivered as a personal thank you, legislator, for adding to the total number of standard capacity magazines lawfully owned by citizens of Colorado".

They should simply print her name and address on the wrappers so we just need to stick a stamp on it.

Ship them to yourself, "Care Of" someone at their address, instead of yours. Just don't take them home to Denver. That would be unlawful.

So now Magpul comes out and says they won't be joining the companies boycotting LEO sales in ban states. Very disappointing. Their statement on ARFCOM shows they don't get the big picture in my opinion.

With all due respect to the companies that are boycotting LEO most of the ones I have seen are pretty small potato's in the big picture. It is not going to be a big impact to them to lose LEO sales. I have yet to see a Big company stand up and say no LEO sales. It would hurt business too much.
My guess is Magpul has a lot of ties with LEO for products and training etc. Could be very detrimental to business for them to take a non LEO stance.

Oh I'm sure that's exactly it, but that also means their principles just took a backseat to revenue. Everyone has their price.

They might as well stay in CO now and save the cost of moving. What's the point of saying you're leaving on principle now?

Just because Magpul's views do not match your views does not mean they are a bad company. Maybe they donate a million dollars to the NRA from their profits next year ...for the greater good.

wARmachine15
02-27-2013, 21:04
I didn't say it made them a bad company just stating an opinion about a conflicting message about principles. And that they don't get the big picture of what 2A is about, which is to put civilians on a level playing field with the government. Their stance does not promote that.

I knew my post questioning a sacred cow wouldn't be well received. I still own about 50 of their awesome products. We can agree to disagree.

I agree. I am not sure I am 100% on board with the whole boycott LEO thing myself. There are lots of good Sheriffs out there that support us so I say keep doing business with them.. Now the ones that don't support us I say don't give them a damn thing.

I can understand why people would be mad about it, that being "But I haven't gotten MY Pmags yet!" But just half a year ago, the cool thing to do for gun companies was an LE/mil discount, like Larue used to do and how Brownells still does.

I dunno. It's gonna generate bad PR with bad timing, even if the people with the bad reactions don't have the best reasoning behind it.

"While he strongly opposes the magazine ban, and a concealed weapons ban for college campuses, Suykerbuyk said he supports a fee on gun buyers to pay for background checks, so long as it is reasonable, and universal background checks on gun sales, provided a national gun-owner registry is not established."

he is quoted as saying he was OK with charging American Citizens a fee to exercise their Constitutional rights. and ok with universal background checks. He may be a Marine, but he is wrong. We shouldnt have to pay for the background check. The government is infringing on our rights and we should pay for it? I dont think so.

We are paying for background checks through taxes. Even people that don't purchase guns. Here's 2 contradicting arguments I can think of.

Argument #1: I don't like the idea of paying for something I don't use, so why should they?
Argument #2: Background checks are for the "public safety", so the public should be paying for it, even if they don't purchase guns.

Edit: I guess I haven't confirmed what funds the background checks. If someone knows....

MarkCO

Argument 1 is a non-starter...even if you don't have kids, your taxes pay for public education. Even if you don't have a car, you pay for roads, the list is extensive and even includes things that Government should never be spending money on.

exactly, i dont break the law, yet i pay for cops, we never even see cops out here. i dont want politicians, yet i pay for those too, i dont send my kids to public school, i pay for that, i dont go to a library or community college, yet I am taxed for them too.

Website has been down since it went live.

Magpul is proud to announce the “Boulder Airlift”, our program to make sure that responsible Colorado citizens have the opportunity to own standard capacity PMAGs prior to the potential implementation of pending legislation that would infringe on their Second Amendment Rights. The program will be open to all responsible CO residents, (with both billing and shipping addresses inside CO) and provide access to a limited quantity of PMAGs. Remember to contact members of the Senate and the Governor prior to ordering and urge them to oppose HB 1224.

Full details at http://www.magpul.com/Colorado

Similar to the Berlin Airlift, the Boulder Airlift will bring much needed supplies to freedom-loving residents trapped inside occupied territory. While we plan to initially use FedEx or UPS instead of aerial delivery, we figure that $5 flat rate shipping will make up for any loss of “style points.”

The increases we have made and continue to make in production capacity will allow us to open this program with very minimal impact on the number of PMAGs we are shipping to our dealers and distributors out of the state. We are also aware that Colorado is not the only state with existing or pending magazine capacity restrictions; we are working on programs for other affected states as well.

"BOULDER AIRLIFT"

PMAGS FOR COLORADANS

During this period of high demand, and with the possibility of pending state legislation, we at Magpul are taking steps to ensure that responsible Colorado residents who want to own standard capacity magazines have the opportunity to do so. To meet this need, we have set up a process for CO residents to purchase limited quantities of magazines from our website.

In order to participate in this program, go to:http://store.magpul.com/member_register (http://store.magpul.com/member_register)

Create your login account and click the “Register” button to submit. Once you receive a “Membership Confirmation” e-mail, forward it to ColoradoPMAGS@magpul.com (ColoradoPMAGS@magpul.com) with your name, the email used to sign up for the account, and your CO address.

BOTH YOUR BILLING AND SHIPPING ADDRESSES MUST BE IN COLORADO!

Once we verify your CO residency (this process can take up to a week due to the large quantities of emails we receive) you will be added to an authorized Special Purchase group, which will allow you to purchase select magazines from a limited access section of our website. You will then receive a notification e-mail stating that you have been added to this group, and instructions for placing your order will be included.

If you already have a login account at Magpul.com, please just send an e-mail to ColoradoPMAGS@magpul.com (ColoradoPMAGS@magpul.com) including your name, the email used to sign up for the account, and your CO address, then the process will proceed as above.

NOTE: WE CANNOT SHIP 30 ROUND MAGAZINES TO ADDRESSES WITHIN DENVER DUE TO THE EXISTING CITY BAN.
All sales are subject to our normal compliance checks.

Like ChunkyMonkey posted... $14.95-17.95 depending on which mag you want (for 30rounders)

Two things:
-Blame the politicians for the law/penalty and their hypocritical application of said law.
-I'm guessing another part of the reason to ban sales to LE as well is so that perhaps LE will hurt a bit and make a big stink with the government that passed the law.

But last time I checked the CO Sheriff's came together to speak out against these bills... Some of them even testified that these laws will do nothing. Funny, it's the appointed who are stinking it up, but the CLEOs who are elected are actually accountable. Strange how "elected" lawmakers have next to no accountability to their constituents- well the democrat ones. They make me sick.

I agree the Sheriffs have been helpful to the cause, but largely ignored by the media. Look at Colorado U.S. Attorney Suthers testifying about the magazine capacity limit--all the while the DOJ report says it won't do a thing. What's the story the media reports?

My point is this--there are plenty, and I'd even go so far as say a significant percentage, of law enforcement folks that want the citizenry disarmed and are happy to testify about it to enable the legislators to advance their agendas. This isn't an anti-fuzz commentary--it's simply a fact. That certain sympathetic Sheriffs get shat upon because chiefs are getting the airtime is not my problem. I didn't see anyone from the Larimer County Sheriff at either of the first two gun rallies. Maybe they were there for the Oath Keeper rally, but they sure as crap weren't standing tall with demonstrators at the capitol in any way, shape or form.

Hats off to Magpul!!

Actually, by residing in Denver, you are precluded from owning any magazines capable of holding more than 20 rounds, by legislation that is already in place. It's not a matter of shipping, it's a matter of residency. If you showed up for your allotment, and your ID has a Denver address, they cannot legally transfer your items to you. Saw a guy at Gander Mtn. get shunned for a Thompson .45acp "Tommy Gun" AFTER he cleared CBI, because it came with a 50rd drum, an he had a Denver address.

I was wondering the same thing too, the wife wanted some for her rifle so she signed up too, I wonder if that will throw a flag?

Separate e-m addys, different names. I "think" Magpul like other vendors, know a family owns more than one gun, in any caliber. besides the billing to your CC is confirmation different person, same last name or is buying. If they don't honor 2 names same addy, i'll have to get more of the neighborhood on the notify list. Next thing you know, 20 new households have AR's, YES!

Okay since I'm an idiot and my brother made me realize I missed a step, make sure you guys do this part:

"Once you receive a “Membership Confirmation” e-mail, forward it to ColoradoPMAGS@magpul.com (ColoradoPMAGS@magpul.com) with your name, the email used to sign up for the account, and your CO address."

I was already registered and am now trying to get on the verify your CO residency list.

Is anyone else getting a "socket timeout error" when sending the email to: ColoradoPMAGS@magpul.com?

Pull the Magpul Unimog up to capital steps and start handing Pmags out. I wonder how many people would show up at the Capital from all around the state. I would make the 6hr drive to show my support to them and my 2A rights. Wonder how much it would take to have them marked "Restricted Colorado Resident Use Only (Insert Date)". Im down for the 10 if it goes down, but i hope that they dont need to do this. If they do have to move operations i support them and its good to see a company stand up for themselves.

-Mapgul needs to also have a bumper sticker made up with words of wisdom.

Can't have the 30 rds in Denver city limits.

Haha, same here. All my neighbors freak out every time they see me loading shooting stuff into my car. I bet they give me the same look of terror.

The registration email was instant. Then you need to forward that email to be put on the CO list.

They are supposed to email you once your address has been verified, said it would take a week. Anyone get one of those emails yet?

Which verification did you get? You get one to verify your email address is correct, and then per their instructions, you forward that email to an email within magpul. If thats the one you are talking of, then you still have a step to take.
