We are working on something for this. Stand by.
I was hopeful they might do something like this. I'll try and add more info as it comes available.

Definitely interested.
That would be awesome if they could do something that would work for the average person. I can see how this could not be as cool as we hope like people trying to buy 1000 of them at a time for resale out of state or lines that make in impossible to actually be able to get a few....
I mean if they just open their doors to Colorado people, can you imagine the line, the wait? Not being a nay-sayer or negative ned, just saying I hope they can find a way so that it works for the average Joe...

Sorry, You are correct. That would be an assholish move of me. You are all residents first, potentially would not be able to get magazines.
I do love the state and still call it my home.

What about when I seperate from the military and move back to Colorado?
I love the state and want to still live there.
I do see your point on how it would be cruel to take away some magazines from true residents who could not receive them any more. And I will retract my comment and let you all have dibs.

If they do this I sure hope they limit it to 10 mags (or less) per customer. I can see all the proffiteers buying them all up just to turn around and re-sell at 10 times the price.

I'd check that with a lawyer. The way the bill is written, that wold not protect you. The District Court Judge (Federal) I spoke to yesterday read the bill and then answered my questions and felt that a trust would not protect you from the transfer clause in the bill.

Put me down for 50! 223 and 50 308.
I already have 31 30-round mags, both Magpuls and GI's, which is probably enough for an old geezer like me. Especially when it comes to stuffing them full and hauling them around. But if Magpul makes an offer like this, I'll have to have at least a few more! Just because.
I'm interested, especially if they would be available in OD & FDE, but hell I'll go for 10 -12 even in Black.
I hope they find somewhere to stamp a nice, big middle finger!!
Not to be meant for purchasers, of course;)
I can already imagine the fringe monkey business surrounding such an action, but Magpul employees are all over the forums and are well familiar with it all.
I propose a first round opportunity to all CO-AR15 members with join date prior to the announcement, STRICTLY limiting each member to more than than three pallets of magazines each.

Yes. And they have been filling those for a week I think. It is taking them many days to ship out 1 days worth of orders. (and this assumes the flow of mags to them continues) My guess for those of us that purchased on the 25th of Dec. it will be weeks before they get to those orders. By then it will probably be too late for us.

There's a thread on barfcom and a google docs worksheet dedicated to tracking this. It depends on the product you ordered. Many window or gen m3 orders were already filled after the holiday pack gen M2 non-window orders. Speculation at this point is futile.

Would love to see a local sale option at a reasonable price. Even MSRP would be okay, but wouldn't it be nice to see $12 or $10 or something? Must provide local address, limit of x quantity per customer. I wouldn't be super-excited about waiting in line - it would be great if they would have some sort of online ordering system.

This afternoon, we at LaRue Tactical have begun to scour our facility for P-Mags to use to fill our Colorado customer orders that are sitting in the backorder pile.
I know we have some previously allocated for LaRue rifle orders, those are going to be repurposed.
If the gavel hits the bench and this stupid sh*t becomes law - everyone else steps back while we work to get as many Colorado mag orders filled before the Democrat meteor strikes Colorado.

I'd buy ten if they did this, would pay over MSRP if the extra $$ helped fund pro 2A efforts and agree it'd be great if they had one of the various Colorado tribute ideas being throw around.
edit: or maybe any extra $$ Magpul made on a sale like this could go directly to their employees who would lose their jobs if/when the factory moves...a sort of "we're sorry we're closing our doors and have to lay you off because the Colorado government sucks" check to the employees.
If they do this, they ought to require personal appearance. A long line of purchasers -- in suits, not camo -- would make some nice TV.

From Facebook:
We are proud to announce that within a matter of days we will be going live with a new program. Due to a bill currently moving through the Colorado legislature, there is the possibility that Colorado residents' ability to purchase standard capacity magazines will soon be infringed. Before that happens, and Magpul is forced to leave the state in order to keep to our principles, we will be doing our best to get standard capacity PMAGs into the hands of any Colorado resident that wants them.
Verified Colorado residents will be able to purchase up to ten (10) standard capacity AR/M4 magazines directly from Magpul, and will be given immediate flat-rate $5 shipping, bypassing our current order queue.
Our customers outside of Colorado, please know that our PMAG production will continue at an ever-increasing rate until we do relocate, shipments to our distributors in other states will continue, and that we do not expect relocation to significantly impact PMAG production. We are also aware that Colorado is not the only state with existing or pending magazine capacity restrictions; we are working on programs for other affected states as well.
Full details and instructions will be announced when we are able to go live; please watch here for the coming announcement.

PRE-HEADS UP: MAGPUL MAY FLOOD COLORADO MARKET BEFORE LEAVING. (http://www.ar-15.co/threads/90041-Pre-Heads-Up-Magpul-may-flood-Colorado-market-before-leaving/page4)

Mixed emotions here. I hate to see them go but this is the coolest thing I've ever seen a company do. I'll be attending more classes and purchasing anything from them that I'm still "allowed to". I hope anyone who either has or will vote for these job killing bills is run out of town on a rail.

Well, what's the population of Colorado, about 5m? Probably a higher gun-owning percentage than the nation at large, but say 2m for easy math. Of those 2m, how many have or want an AR? 5%? So that's 100k, times ten each, would be a million. So for the sake of argument, I'll set the over/under at 1 million mags.
Man, that would make great press, for Magpul to dump one million 30-rounders in Colorado on their way out of town.
jerrymrc
02-26-2013, 20:59
i dont think the problem is people buying them and keeping them for their personal use in the future. a lifetime is a long time to go without buying new mags. i dont sell mags. but, i have 7 young kids. i would like to build each of their stockpiles up.
remember this could be all you buy forever. and mags do wear out. well if they get used enough.
In your case. We are at the grandchildren stage and I think that if the stupid law passes I will take a bunch of mags and get the grandkids together. I will take a picture with them and all the mags then have it notarized. At least they will be protected from this crap.
Just a thought for when someone down the road says that it can't be possible since they were 5 at the time the law passed. [Coffee]

Bottom line is this: Magpul is going to leave CO, along with its jobs, and more than likely, it's suppliers jobs, if this bill goes through. Not to mention it's products will be illegal in CO after XY date. I don't see a reason to celebrate, except for Magpul's adherence to the 2nd...The rest of us lose, so enjoy your push to the front of the line for 10 mags.

I think it would great if they did something like charge a slight premium, let's say $2 and then that $2 goes right to NRA-ILA or SAF. $14.95 for a Gen2 wouldn't be a bad deal, if the extra goes to kick back the laws and support kicking out the people that voted "yes". IMO

^ This. I think this is largely symbolic and I will support it as such.
Someone mentioned adding a couple bucks onto the price of the mags so Magpul could give it to the NRA-ILA. Instead of giving it to the NRA what I think would be a better idea would be to add $1 or $2 onto each mag they sell to Colorado and give all that extra to their employees that will lose their job if they move. If they sell a million mags to Colorado on their way out, and they get an extra $2 per mag to their employees on their last check...that would be awesome.

I wouldn't ship a pile of cow shit to her. Unless i delivered it. Fuk Her Fuk her ambitious plans of politics. With the promise of greater glory in O's admin for running point on Gun Grabber laws.
Sorry her son died sorry sorry she feels outlawing an intimate object will prevent scumbag felon gang bangers from putting out hits while inside the joint. If her son were alive she'd still enact something to infringe on legitimate law abiding gun owners rights. Fuck Her.

I would waste my time. Cool? Cool is being able to buy a product w/out concern ownership of it will put your kids in jail as felons. Mental Masturbation at work.
Reminds me of that part in Alice's Restaurant
Guthrie is sitting in jail and a con ask him what he's in for?
I Said, Litterin (and they all moved away)
AND CREATING A DISTURBANCE (THEN THEY ALL MOVED BACK)
BTW: WHERE'S NYNCO IN ALL THIS BREW HA HA. Oh wait he's writing his reps, Expressing OUTRAGE, I TELL YA, OUTRAGE
10 will be on order from this household but I also have many other family that could use them. I WILL NOT participate in "hoarding" and will NEVER "flip" one magazine on a really good gesture from MAGPUL given the limited time-frame they're likely to have; not to mention they are still supplying our AD .mil and "folks" in real dangerous places.
FWIW, I'd gladly give several extra $ per mag to support both NRA-ILA and the employees.
Yet another sad day in my beloved state...[Mad]
With the numbers that will be sold it would be nice to figure a way to avoid paying that much tax to the state.

I'm down with this 100%. I was laid off due to no fault of my own for a while....I'd gladly make a modest donation of $1 or $2 per mag. Those employees are getting f-ed by the Dems here for no good reason. Sad. And yeah, Magpul DOES have to move if they want to survive as a company, so it's not their "choice" (just a preemptive "uhhh, no" for those that blame them for moving).

BRILLIANT!
Why did Mr. LaRue and his team pop into my head? (Err, maybe I also think it's a synergistic relocation for MAGPUL).
I have no idea how much the current crop of CO-commies would lose in sales tax by a MAGPUL direct-ship to TX and then RE-SELL "CO ONLY" PMAGS in mass quantities to us peons?
OK, MAGPUL, I HOPE my cost per last "CO-produced" PMAG goes up but I'd LOVE to have a FU CO-Enemies Domestic 2013 Dillo or something similar AND SUPPORT good causes... Sadly , I know Mark & Team are working on something for Chris Kyle that's way more important and running 100%

I cant wait till these are all back up in the Trading Post for $50 each. I hope they do a special stamp on them so we can rapidly identify all the douche bag opportunists on the forum...
Why is it douchey to be capitalistic? Public educated/ indoctrinated I take it?

They just found out their b/orders have shipped. SO................. instead of buying at $30+ per mag everyone will wait, until they can buy the 10 mag allotment.
Keep in mind, an easy 65% of those who bitched about PRICE GOUGERS have posted more high priced shit than anyone else. Then again it would not be for sale if there wasn't a market.
That my friend is Capitalism, Supply & Demand.
I just hope they have a neat-o stamp on them.
I'd like that as well.

Awesome on Magpul; I'll be buying a few and would gladly throw in a few bucks to help out displaced employees or NRA-ILA. Really glad to see this happen, as by private email I proposed this to Magpul about 5 weeks ago.
"Verified Colorado residents will be able to purchase up to ten (10) standard capacity AR/M4 magazines directly from Magpul, and will be given immediate flat-rate $5 shipping, bypassing our current order queue."
Does this mean 5.56 mags only, or will 308 mags be available too? I really need the 308 mags! Either way...this is COOL!

Don't ship perfectly good mags to her. They'd just be thrown away or destroyed. Better still to send her the empty packaging. Imagine thousands of empty MAGPUL wrappers filling her office.

Now that's a winner. Include a note for her to recycle the packaging as a earthloving Democrat should.

I think this is the best Idea
If only there was a way to ship them to a distributor in another state and then ship them to customers in Colorado so not a dime went to the state in sales tax.
