4th Saturdays at the Weld County Range all year long. Be there.

There is an email list for ONLY CMG match announcements and results. The directions on how to subscribe are on http://coloradomultigun.com
I am normally the match director for the Weld County matches.
Here is the announcement I sent to the list yesterday:
thanksQuote:
We have a 3-Gun match at Weld County this Saturday, April 25th!
I'll be out of town, so fellow CMG member Scott Stephens will be running the match.
Setup 8AM, shooters' meeting 10 AM.
Please come and help Scott set up the match. A couple of our normal setup helpers cannot make it this month. Ever wondered if you can set up a stage, or have something you want to try? Show up at 8 AM and help set it up!
Zak
Anybody planning to shoot Weld 3-gun this weekend?
I would like to, but I'm stuck here in Vegas for SHOT show....
Sounds like a plan. My wife is itching to do some 3-gun. That girl loves her some Benelli. [UZI]

I went today. zak put on a great match. It was really windy, in fact we all got pretty gravel blasted at the rifle stage. Good times.
it's the 26th, right?
Yup. 4th Saturdays.
www.coloradomuitigun.com has all the info.
I sure hope the weather holds for next weekend. Despite the wind I went out this morning to make sure my scope was zeroed for 200. I've been looking forward to this since November. I'll be the one that looks like he has only done this four times(because I have), so any and all advice and even a little good natured jabbing are welcome. Hope to meet some of you next weekend.[Beer]

The wind and cold was pretty brutal in Jan-- but we've shot in colder weather there (though not both I don't think). Crazy wind = almost all steel match.
The Feb match is coming up a week from today. I'd like to get "Stage Bosses" who have some great stage ideas and can direct our plentiful helpers to get them done. I bring a screw gun and an extra battery, and I show up a little before 8 to set up the range closed signs. We'll shoot on bay 1 (25 yards, approx 7y wide), bay 3 (50x50), bay 4 ("shotgun" berm, 100x40), and the 200m range. FYI, we plan to shoot on the 200m on even numbered months and the 100y on the odd months. If you can hit a 6x6 steel plate at 200m from offhand, you should do fine. ;)
If you're new to 3-Gun and action shooting sports, see if you can get a USPSA-style safety briefing from one of your buddies. I always give a safety and new shooter briefing at the shooters' meeting, but if you get it before you'll have an easier learning curve. If you've shot USPSA or IDPA, you should be GTG for procedure and safety.
Any other questions, email me, call me, or post a question here and give me a pointer so I don't miss it.
I'm in. My wife gave me no grief and even thought I should get there early to help set-up. I think she is having an affair, that was too easy.
Dont forget to check the CMG Google groups messages before you head to the range.
I am guessing Zak will post something here if there is a weather cancel, but somethings things slip through the cracks.
No news is good news.
I doubt Zak will cancel. Last month at Raton it never got above 25F, was windy, and snowed on and off and we all were happy (including Zak). Email him if you are concerned.
I have to work tomorrow so will not make it. :-(
For some reason I never get reply-notification emails from CO-AR15.com. I get them properly from every other forum. That makes it very hard for me to keep up with threads here.
Anyway:
The match is still on.
If I have to cancel a match, I try to do it by mid-day on Friday latest, and the method of notification is the CMG email list. I also post match announcements/reminders and results to that list- so if you're not on it, get on it. If there's a doubt you can always text, call, or email me directly.
thanks

What fun! I got off or I-25 at 14 and it was pure ice and 10 feet of visibilty in fog. I actually pulled over to check to see if it had been canceled and decided to press on. 100 yards down the road, dry pavement and no fog- weird.
Had a great time even if my times/scores don't show it. Amazing how the plan goes to hell when the buzzer goes off and I start to smell powder. [AR15]
Great bunch of people at the match. The more 3-gunners I meet, the more impressed I am with how helpful everyone is. Great low-stress way to shoot. Great Chili!
Wife was taking a nap on the couch when I got home.... hmm.
Less toys, more practice.
I have not had that much fun at a 3-gun match in a long time. Great people. Great chili. Fun stages.
Thanks for putting it on Zak.
I've been out of 3 gunning for, gulp, 7 yrs. That match showed that there is some good talent around these parts. Heck, I've been to state matches that weren't as good as this match. Good job Zak and crew.
I learned quite a bit....
1)Bring my hicap gun for the pistol portion.
2)Dont bring my 10" pump for the shotgun portion.
3) Hoser is a better shot than he looks.
4)Docmedic isn't SA Friday.
5)These guys dont care about the finish on their rifles. Concrete blocks?!?!
6) 3 gun's more fun than nude volleyball.
7)I'll be back. [Beer]
Thanks for the chili comments. Ill bring spoons if I do it again. ;)

The match yesterday was a lot of fun. Couldn't have asked for better weather. Thanks to Hoser and the rest of my squad for helping me out and giving me pointers. Great guys and the chilli was awesome. Thanks again Zak for putting on a great match!

The match was a lot of fun! I had never shot a three gun match before this one. Thanks to my squad for showing me how its done and loaning me some gear I needed. I will definitely shoot some more of these in the future.

The one and only time that the word 'Clip' can be used as 8 round clip is ejected after the last shot is ejected.

From Stage 1: About 20 yard shots with rifle. Three on the left side of a barrier, three on the right- all head shots. Then 3 steel at 12-18yards on each side of the barrier shot one handed, with support side hand on one side and the other hand on the other side. Then body shots on the six targets thru the center port, some with "hostages" covering parts of the targets. Not all the hostages made it thru. Support hand off hand- very humbling.

Good times. The wind blew for most of the day but at least the sun was shining. And the 41 round shotgun stage was awesome. As always, it was a lot of fun especially since my brother made this shoot and we could rib each other all day about who was doing better!

The match is always on unless posted otherwise. The way to find out about match status of the next match is to make sure you're on the email list.
This month Bill will be Guest Match Director again, as I'll be on my way out of town for the Steel Safari.
Sounds like the range got hammered with snow.
Zak says this Saturdays match is a cancel.
Go shoot bolt guns at CRRC instead.
Yep`, it was muddy today according to the caretaker and we are still getting hammered with snow tonight
Is this event this coming weekend the 23rd or the following weekend the 30th? Just curious so I can plan accordingly ;)
On for this coming Saturday.
Game on this Saturday. Dont forget to bring about 10 slugs.
Twas a fund day up in cattle country. I got sunburned, my shotty had a failure to cycle and I generally sucked but SHOTS down range, what a great day!!!
Were you up at High Plains yesterday? I was there, as well as another member. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0kltrkk5Xo
