Well, I've been on vege-juice-only for a week. Number of pounds lost is negligible -at best. The only thing I can figure is that I may not be a great candidate for this: I'm 46 and a lifelong vegan (born/raised), I'm simply juicing what I'd eat whole and removing carbs from the equation. At 6'/190#, I'm not expecting the numbers some are achieving but I guess I'd have expected something... The plan was to go for a month which I still intend to do but I'm not sure this is going to amount to more than simply a challenge I put myself up to while the wife is out of town. And for those contemplating it: this ain't cheap. I've spent $150 on vegetables this week, primarily from Costco and Sprouts, and that is just to 'feed' one person.

Just weighed in for the first time since starting on all juice:

    Day 4:
    Starting Weight: 215.4
    Current Weight: 210.0
    Difference: -5.4

My plan is to only weigh every 3 days, since water intake/retention can cause some interesting fluctuations day to day. So far so good, it is hard to be around other people eating tasty food, but I'm pleased with the results.

I found that to be the case the first couple of days (and posted about it in this thread) but have come up with a blend/recipe that has brought an end to any 'solid food' cravings. For me, adding cayenne really helped.

Cheated tonight. Grilled 3 burgers for the wife and grandson, and one was "too rare", so I ate it. It was awesome! Now my tummy hurts, doesn't know what it is.

Yes, the only complaints for this one I could find when researching juicers was about the plastic latches breaking even by those who bought it knowing this was the weak point and were intentionally trying to be careful. HB made a newer model with metal latches for $10 more. Buy it. If you can't find one at Walmart order it on Amazon for $60 shipped and return the plastic latch one when it arrives.

Ideally you want to have 80/20 split of veggies to fruit mixture. If all you're having is vegetables this could be part of your problem.

This is why you weigh yourself every morning when you wake up after you pee. This is the best way to get an accurate comparison and weighing yourself every three days doesn't tell the whole story. What if you lost 2.7lbs one day, lost nothing the next and then lost another 2.7lbs the 3rd day and you did something different the 2nd day to cause that? Weighing yourself only once every three days doesn't tell you these things.

On top of that expect your physical hunger to return for another few days once you go back to juice.

Oh well, I'm in this for a long ride, got a lot of lard to lose. I wish I'd known about this when I lost my job last Nov., I could've been svelte by now!

I've noticed I'm more limber now. Hell at 350 I can touch my toes where 2 weeks ago I could barely cross my legs to tie my shoes. They say wheat causes joint swelling and discomfort. (From the book wheat belly) this has convinced me that I made the right choice. Today is my last day of straight juice dr orders. My blood sugars are to high even with 12 hour fast.
